Incredible Perching UAV Lands On And Takes Off From Walls

Posted April 29, 2010 8:13 AM

From Gizmodo:

This little guy is pretty remarkable: a fixed-wing aerial drone that lands by clinging vertically to a wall, and takes off from the same position. I'm not saying this is the future of spy planes—but it should be.

"this beats NATURAL SYSTEMS"

I wouldn't go that far... the styrofoam plane can't forage for fuel, lay eggs, or reproduce, nurture young, avoid predators, migrate across continents, or much more than fly at the whim of some geek... but I will grant you that it is cool.

I wouldn't go that far...

Let us appreciate a great break through into the realm of Nature and its marvellous designs.

True...can't forage for fuel, lay eggs, or reproduce, nurture young, avoid predators, migrate across continents, or much more than fly at the whim of some geek...

I am glad for it ....... as it would then compete (mercilessly) with god's own creations and may be even become a predator and make every natural bird Extinct...aren't we humans doing it very effectively already??
