Most new copiers include a hard drive, so that they can handle a document only once, no matter how many copies you want. But the hard drives retain information on virtually every copy they have ever made. Retiring or disposing of such copiers without first removing that information is a recipe for disaster. Do you treat your copier as a security leak? How does your company dispose of old copiers? How do you dispose of the internal hard drives? What additional steps could you take? Should you take?
