BP Successfully Stops Oil Flow

Posted July 15, 2010 4:25 PM

From Gizmodo:

According to BP officials, the implementation of their latest containment seal at the Deepwater Horizon rig has been successful. That means that for the first time in months, no new oil is gushing into the Gulf. BP still has to conduct pressure tests to make sure that the well bore is intact. That will take place over the next 48 hours, as engineers determine if there's sufficient pressure to prevent more oil and gas leaks from appearing on the ocean floor. BP execs seem cautiously optimistic about the process

He has handled the pressure better than any of his mechanical devices, so he should be safe. Not sure about the future of BP though. I predict they will sell off to some of their partners in crime and get off Scott free in the end. The share holders will have world wide celebrations and are already storming their opponents stocks.

The clean up will possibly be paid for by the taxpayers (if it can be done at all) and they have as much clout as a hamster running a wheel.

Gosh this hurts, Ky.

Time to show your true self, it is! Help you, I can. Select from the following avatars, you must, or kick your a$$, I will!

I just think cute, this is (choose this one, I would!)!

An iconic representation, this truly is.

More like your speed, this is, mmhmm hmmmh hmmh!

Hmmm hmmah! The temporal Vader!

Great avatars, they are. Choose one and greatly admired by all, you will be!

With a prayer. Its not over yet. The well casing still has to withstand the enormous pressures and is possibly compromised. One can not get clear information but if their pressure readings go down it would indicate that there is a leak in the well, beneath the bed rock.

No popping corks jet I'm afraid. The best of luck to them though, Ky.

It will probably get cleaned up as thoroughly as Union Carbide cleaned up Bhopal?
