What Are Your Most Critical Test Problems?

Every test engineer, design engineer, and manager must address a unique mix of challenges. At what stage do you have the most difficulty? Why? How do you distribute the responsibilities? Can you get designers to create products that you can test? How easily can you get management to approve capital appropriations for test equipment? Additional staff to get the work done? How will the design of products already on the drawing board affect your situation? What is your greatest challenge?

I've rarely had a problem with my critical tests. They are the tests that tell me if what I've designed will perform as needed. My problems normally lie with the tests that to my surprise should have been performed but weren't performed.
