Valentine’s Day Gadgets for Her

Posted February 11, 2011 12:00 AM by Steve Melito

Roses are red. Violets are blue. If she likes gadgets, then this stuff may do.

Valentine's Day is just around the corner and on the other side of the weekend, guys. There's still time to shop for something other than chocolates. Yes, if you order on-line, you may need to specify next-day shipping. But "love knows no boundaries", as anyone who's been subjected to a movie on the Hallmark Channel can attest.

The website 7 Gadgets has a bevy of Valentine's Day gift recommendations. First, there's a "twisted heart earbud" that looks suspiciously like a strawberry, but which may delight the audiophile in your life. There's also a heart-shaped USB hub with four ports. The significance of the color may have been lost on its makers, but this hub really does look more like a misshapen Easter egg than a combat medal.

So you didn't know that modern love is synonymous with the universal serial bus (USB)? Times have changed, I guess. In addition to the serial hub, 7 Gadgets suggests buying her a precious USB drive in a heart-shaped box, or a bright-red, heart-shaped, optical mouse. If you'd rather stick with audio components, you might consider the "heart portable iPod and MP3 player, or even the "tunes for two" headphone splitter.

Chocolates, candlelight, and a Hello Kitty Anniversary Edition mouse pad? Here's hoping that "love isn't blind" in your abode if you opt for the heart-shaped 2.4" digital photo frame instead.

This is all well and good, Moose, but if someone really wants to melt my butter...

they'll wrap this up for me.

Sue, would you tell me...

Would such an automobile qualify as a 'Chick Magnet'?

If so, I may abandon my rather Quixotic project to convert a 1988 Ford Econoline into such a vehicle and just get one as pictured.

I've no doubt that your Ford Econoline upgrade would warm female Fargo hearts. But if you do happen to purchase the pictured vehicle, drop me a line....

I've never been a very materialistic guy, and I don't want to be considered a MCP but I would expect a lot more than melted butter to give anyone one of these.

Oh, harrumph. That's for amateurs. This is how butter is melted:

Fortunately, there is still room in my garage for a new motor vehicle...

I've never received a valentines gift. Given the chronology, the odds of this pattern changing are not so good.

I've given a few valentines though, for fun and friends. Everyone should do it, february sucks, ya know... make somebody's day. It doesn't have to be your sweetheart.

Actually, I sell valentines gifts.

Everyone should do it.

I see you have February taken care of!

The prospects of a better february on the "Day of" make me positively numb.

BS, give your friend a real present for valentines. It's good for the economy!
