Potential Health Risk Related to Noise

If you're older than 65, you might want to know about a Danish study that could affect your health. Specifically, it concluded that for every 10 dB increase in traffic noise, risk of stroke increases by 27% (Scientific American podcast). Although the study, reported in the European Heart Journal, does not prove that noise directly causes strokes, would you consider relocating from a city or other noisy location to avoid the risk?

What if the hassles of moving and adjusting to an unfamiliar location increase the risk of stroke by 54%?
