Sustainable Manufacturing

Posted February 17, 2011 7:00 AM

According to a recent survey, 65% of manufacturers who report on their sustainability measures enjoy improved processes, but it might not matter to customers. The survey also finds that 97% of the companies that read sustainability reports say that the reporting activity itself indicates that a company is likely to be improving its sustainability performance.

Are your company and your customers focused on sustainable manufacturing — using processes that minimize negative environmental impacts, conserve energy and natural resources, and are safe for employees, communities, and consumers?

Hi,

Yes, I care about the health of people using my products and I produce them, after my best knowledge, without solvents and "chemicals of concern", which could be carcinogen, reproductive toxicant, and chemicals with long-term health effects. Maintain VOC level as low as possible, under 50 gram per litre. I do not dispose any liquids and last year was 2 lbs of solids, mainly pigments and some dried addtivies, I gave officially and registered to the town's incinerator.

The governments must act to improve manufacturers' sustainability. Eliminate the sale of solvents for the most industries or refineries don't produce anymore.

Customers and communities follow reporters from newspapers and TVs. They don't have idea of danger and less for solutions, Gil.
