NASA Consultants Tell How to Survive Alien Invasion

The problem is that aliens are, well, alien. I've yet to hear of a truly alien invasion scenario, they all have the usual anthropomorphic influence. So, will the plan work?

It's too little, too late. I'm convinced that all the girls in my elementary school years ago were malevolent extraterrestrials bent on world domination. Some of them still are.

One must needs learn Alien ettiquette. For example: Never remove your glove to shake hands with an alien. They will remove it, often using a probe device. Never offer them advice. You are silly to them. Do not approach them straight on. They prefer peripheral contact... just in the visually blurry zone. And please, no screaming.

I think the presumption that it would all be like ' Independence Day ' says a lot about our species. If I was on holiday and strolled into a new bay , to be confronted by inbreds pointing BB guns , I might be a tiny bit upset and return next time with a death ray. They may have a point , it was NASA (1969) that said we'd be on Mars by the mid 80's .

Any civilization that can travel between stars will be too advanced for us to deal with in any way, whatever their intentions. We are very primitive irregardless of toys we have, we better hope that they are not like us and didn't find there star drive somehow.

If aliens had the technology to travel here would they go out of their way to step into our "little ant den"? I think not! Oh, they could use us and our animals for nourishment. Yummie!

My best guess is we are a genetic experiment gone bad! I wonder what alien experimental group is taking the hit for this little mess? Personally I'm paraniod of every little sound! You know the whiring and whizzing of the round disks traveling overhead. Those noises could be just a damn leave blower though. Please remind me to ask my doctor to adjust my medication!

Yes. Supposedly us.

Let us speculate:

The natural life (human - animal - vegetal) existing in the Earth is aggressive. I must of supposition that the life in general in the universe is due to tolerate of the same form.

If they have already visited to us and we have not undergone a collapse - which we are for them - they have not brought its wars or conflicts to our house - that time they take traveling by the space - the balance of the Earth life is fragile.

I conclude that we are distant family, children of the star dust.

And I consider myself distrustful of the good faith, I'm not paraniod.

All life , is by definition aggresive I suppose - It must 'use' it's environment . Something has to 'trade' for that to happen. No trade is 100% fair , so there must be a looser in this. 'That's life' as they say. (?)

I am more or less shure that there are ETs in our galaxy - around 1 million different planetary sytems perhaps or 1 in 100000 sunlike stars.

These are likely to be more advanced than we are.

But where is the estimate how far can a civilisation evolve?

There was not one civilisation on earth that survived for more than 700 years.

So for how long will our -now globalised- cicilisation survive?

And at or after the next collapse there will be no easy coming up again.

We depend on only a few critical technologies that depend on worldwide supply.

In former times there were "barbaric tribes" that could overtake after collapse.

So I would estimate that it is very likely that a human civilisation on earth will develop toward collapse and the same will happen to others.

Not in the sense of Jared Diamond but in the sense of Konrad Lorenz.

So there will not exist enough time for an outside civilisation to develop the technology to come as the same limits of survival will be existing there.

If somebody else will come to visit us they will come to colonise that is to wipe us out to nonexistence. No chance to escape.

Think about a machine gunner compared to a long bow archer?

And the difference will be much bigger.

So we should learn the following:

stop active signal sending to the outside, we will invite the others that are considering us as little dirty ugly bugs that shall be wiped out by some poison or the other.

It is very unlikely that they can come - and why should they try - but if they come it will be the worst case.

And we should learn: why did ancient and medieval and recent states and communities fail or collapse.

This is much more likely to happen. By war. By usurpation. By economical or genetic decline. By not educating good enough the next generation.

Here are the real dangers!

Not climate nor limited energy resources: simple decline of capability. This together with rising debility or madness. This can be genetic or civilisatoric decline or both.

The same pattern is arising if you look at the early pharaos, the invading people from hittite to persians, the greeks, the romans , carthagians, parthian people, the huns the early arabs, spanish, portugese, the french and german kings and emperors up to the last ones called Hitler and Stalin.

So if we have a dangerous enemy: we are the enemy. Search for concepts to attack these dangers, only then will our technical civilisation survive.

Think about it to try hard to survive.

Today I would estimate for 100 years in Europe and the US, 200 years in southern america and Russia, and Asia.

Nature is not merciful and our sweet life is a step towards doomsday.

Why do we automatically assume that "they" would come here to destroy us? They could be around just studying how evolution works...

I love how many people assume that an advanced civilization of aliens would by definition be peaceful. This is because here on earth, cowards rationalize their feelings by pretending that they are smarter than everyone else, thus they are peaceful. Therefore, anyone smarter than them must be more peaceful. This holds in their minds because the moment they encounter someone with a different view, they simply say "he is more violent than me, therefore he is dumb, therefor his views don't count"

The theory that the more techologically advanced a society is, the more peaceful it is, is exposed when you look at how the more "advanced" Spaniards raped central/south America.

Sadly, the same folks who are in the "aliens must be peaceful" camp are also those who seek to disarm individuals and remove our right to self-defence against humans. If aliens ever came, this makes it an all-or-nothing gamble. The best defence is to have the country/earth crawling with people who are armed and will not submit.

You have interjected the word "assume", as if there is no thought supporting taking this position. A tiny amount of logical reflection leads to the conclusion that this is our only strategy for survival. By demonstration, any group that can come here has significantly superiour technology to ours. Likely, their superiour engineering applies to areas beyond transportation. Declaring war on them is rather like the rabbits placing great faith in their carrot spears, and declaring war on the wolves. Sane minds might suggest that it is a superior strategy not to provoke the wolves.

But of course, humankind is "blessed" with a noisy community which screams "we must do something (read violent)", even when it is clearly destined to be ineffective. Since they include our political leaders, we probably won't get a vote if this situation should ever arise.

It would be wise to reflect on this when we are called to political action, based on appeals to fear, rather than on rational argument.

This reminds me about a Twilight Zone show about Aliens coming to earth, in their hand is a manual title "To Serve Men". The rest of the text can't be read by us. Anyway, People on Earth was afraid at first, then they accept them and when invited to go to the aliens planet, people line up to go. Near the end of the show, someone figure out that the "Manual" is in reality a cookbook, title "To Serve Men".
