Watch the "Sheep Cyclone" Encircle a Car

Posted February 05, 2012 2:45 PM

From Autoblog:

The beige blurs in the still above are sheep, and they're apparently very excited about something in that little blue car. Supposedly, a farmer in the Caucasus was just trying to get through a lane, and this, dubbed the "sheep cyclone," is what developed.

Sheep are so incredibly stupid that they tend to just follow the one in front of them without question. Unfortunately the lead one likely saw the tailing end one go around the back of the car so it instinctively just went and started following it around thus eliminating itself as the leader and the rest just kept right on following behind.

Odds are if given enough time the whole lot of them would likely have ran around that car until they passed out or gave themselves heart attacks.

We raised sheep for a short time when I was young. I saw them do a similar thing around out buildings a couple of times. They would go for an hour to two just walking around a building following the one ahead of it. Round and round they would go each one just cluelessly following the one in front of itself until enough of them got too tired to walk any further.

And thats how I learned about what politicians do to get trained for their jobs.

You are sooo right about them being dumb! We raised them for a while also. I think their intelligence is somewhere between a chicken and a rock!

The politics have already hit the fan, no real holding it back now.

Just hold your nose and try not to get it in your mouth.

That happened to me in Ireland once -- but instead of a flock of sheep it was a single collie dog.

I was leaving a manor house I'd visited and as I drove down the driveway the family dog ran in front of the car. I hit the brakes, and then eased forward as the dog moved out of the way. The dog ran around the car and in front of it again. So I hit the brakes again, then eased forward again -- and this stop!/crawl/stop!/crawl continued all the way down the looooong driveway with the dog running circles around the car. I'm sure the folks at the manor house had a huge laugh about it in the pub for the next week or two. Hell, they're probably still laughing about it, and it happened years ago.

Was told that a farmer had about 500 sheep in a camp and was standing at the gate to count them as they leave.

When he reached about 700 he realized something is wrong and he looked around.

The leaders went through 2 open gates back into the camp and patiently waited their turn to exit through gate again.

I guess that confirms posting #2 above; getting counted twice happens in Chicago politics all the time.
