Ummm, yeah, wow. A 4.25 inch hailstone.

Not quite as big a news story, I'm thinking, as the 100 ton boulder that rolled down a hillside in Ohio. It destroyed 2 cars and damage two homes. Luckily, no one was injured.

Or a 3,000 acre fire that forced the evacuation of 900 homes?

No boulder, but the article fails to mention the largest hailstone ever in the US. I think the old record-holder was in Western Nebraska near my hometown in 1928. (not like I was there, born many years later)

But now we have a new record!!! 7 inches!

Next time Hawai'i has a tsunami or hurricane I want to see some news about Nebraska's "Biggest Hailstone" or Ohio's "Big Boulders" on the headlines.

Better yet...how many people in Nebraska or Ohio died in their largest hurricanes...collectively?

It's just a public interest story...

OUCH!!

"It's just a public interest story..." I don't think one needs to get so worked up over it! Not looking for people to die........

What was that song from that punk rocker, "These are people who died, died."? The Jim Carrol Band I think.

Puts a whole new spin on the "some hail damage" sale at the local car dealer.

Driving thru a small town in Minnesota (last century, can't remember exactly where) my wife and I saw a sign in a Singer Sewing store advertising "Hail Damage discounts". We did not stop to ask how those sewing machines got the hail damage.
