This week, we're going to try doing something a little different!

Here is the image, submitted by PWSlack:

Telling some information about the bridge is only half the battle! If you can, find a bridge or other piece of architecture that shares a similar style or history to this one!

It's fluff on the original colour slide image.

Dartmoor - stone bridge across the source of the river Dart

"Here on Dartmoor, areas where the heavy rainfall is unable to drain away become boggy, and some of them have achieved notoriety; most notable is Fox Tor Mires, supposedly the inspiration for Great Grimpen Mire the Baskervilles novel.""The village was bisected by the River Dart. Hard to imagine this is the same river that ends up running past Greenway Estate, where Sir Francis Drake sailed and where Agatha Christie wrote."

.

.

Grimspound Circle.... (a late Bronze Age settlement) on Dartmoor...One of Grimspound's hut circles where Holmes might have sought shelter...

SolarEagle-

That's the SAME bridge, not one of similar design or history (minus, of course the unidentified flying object, which just might be a kite tail)...

So, the bridge is pre-Roman? Has there been any restoration?

Just a lucky streak, even I was surprised....Note the signature on the watercolor, that was even more of a surprise....Most of the pictures are linked to sources, which I've been informed some people are unaware of. so if you click on the pictures you'll take a ride....most of them anyways....

The Great Grimpen Mire....

Actually, while Conan Doyle used the topography of the Moor, he "allowed himself artistic licence with the names. The deadly but fictitious Great Grimpen Mire was inspired by the equally deadly - but all too real - Fox Tor Mire."
