Why would you buy the UP! 3D printer, with a build volume of 4.75 x 4.75 x 4.75 inches/120 x 120 x 120 mm (H x W x D), for $829.99

When you can get the RoBo 3D printer with a build volume of 10x9x8 inches (254x228.6x203.2mm) -720 cubic inches, for $699? http://www.robo3dprinter.com/products/robo-3d-abs-model-fully-assembled

And better: "Arduino MEGA 2560 with RAMPS 1.4 shield. Uploaded with the latest Marlin Firmware."

Which means it's open source.

I haven't got one yet, but after researching different manufacturer & kits, this is the one I put on my Christmas list.

Hope I've been a good boy this last year.

My Uncle model model boats for the ships yards carved out of Balsam, he had mini-wood working equipment such as drill presses and such...... even as a 10 years old, I was impressed by the detail. the rest he took off models he purchase at the local hobby shop.

back in the 90's when I worked at the shipyard, We had allot of military contracts Special Operations Crafts and such. Even at the time, I looked at stereolithography of creating these models, but the price was way out there.

Now not so much.......

FYI: Piaggio was an Italian aeronautical engineer who invented the Vespa scooter.

BTW, the Vespa would make a nice package under the Xmas tree...

Mrs Wal wants one of them too.

I always thought Vespa/piaggios were 2 stroke cantankerous things but a recent visit to the showroom has them telling me that now they aren't 2 stroke. They are now fuel injected so you don't have to do that silly tip to one side before staring nonsense. Also automatic now. Look OK but not cheap...

From your location, I think it has something to do with smuggling.

Any of those ideas would be returned for credit!

So far my list includes...

New welding helmet (auto darken of course)

2 automatic trickle charges

2500 watt DC/AC inverter

variety of electrical connectors (crimp type and solder type)

couple of rolls of solder ( small sizes)

Linear amplifier for 2m/.7m

8-12000 lb snatch block

Someone to keep my shop(s) clean!
