"It's your birthday grandma!" Told it was her birthday celebration, Hilda(Hildy @102) doesn't seem to notice all the stars and strips surrounding her as she is paraded down her hometown streets portraying "Old Lady Liberty" in the 4th of July celebration....

out of 365 days in a year,.... there is one day in a year where old man Jones and the mrs. fashion choice go relatively........ unnoticed.

Lady Liberty: The Farewell Tour.

(This parade sponsored by the NSA, IRS, VA and FBI.)

You ever been in a parade?

If you wave with your whole arm, it will fall off at the elbow after 5 miles or so.

The Queen's Wave, also known as the Royal Wave, or the Radar Dish, is much less strenuous on the arm, and if in a carriage or other transport with a window, you can rest your elbow on the armrest just below the window frame, and now you can wave to every noble, knight, peasant, chile, dog, frog, pigeon and Morris Dancer as you travel from London to Shanghai without stopping.

I have not been in a parade, but I did invent an automatic hand waver with interchangeable left and right hands.

Sounds painful, I think I prefer my hands where they are.

Besides, I wouldn't know what to do if my hands were interchanged. I'd be typing with my thumbs on the OUTSIDE instead of together over the space bar.

Yes, sadly, this invention went the way of the football bat, also painful.

Now if they introduce the football bat to SOCCER, it might liven the game up a bit.

Speaking of "livening up the game" If opposing teams of many sports were brought in close proximity to each other as far as the benches, dugouts, or whatever, the games would be more entertaining, especially the sports requiring some sort of stick.

No Nixon. No Enron. No George Bush. No Tea Party. Losing that war may be the best thing we ever did. We Brits may have more reason to celebrate 4th July than you guys.

Angry after an argument with her son about Uncle Sam wearing sunglasses, the Irate senior tosses her flaming torch into the open doors of the pyrotechnic trailer, causing the premature display.

The trailer was voted fastest and most colorful float.

Sonny, I sure hope this parade gets a wriggle on.

That cup of (Boston) tea earlier is making itself known and if we don't get me back to the home soon ......
