New Networks Required for IoT

With more than 20 million Internet of Thing (IoT) devices expected to relay information over the Internet by 2022, wireless carriers know that today's cellular networks can't support these connections. "Today's networks were built for smartphones," says one industry insider. So, it looks like IoT will be getting its own wireless networks. To date, developers have designed networks that rely on GPS trackers, another is completely customized, and another is a network of 27 antennas designed for Washington state that could be operating within months.
