3D Printing Simplifies Production of Spare Parts

Beginning in September, Daimler will simplify its spare parts business by printing spare parts for its Mercedes-Benz Trucks brand. As many as 30 spare parts will initially be available, including spring caps, air and cable ducts, clamps, mountings and control elements. Maintaining spare parts in low demand, not to mention the facilities that produce them, has long been uneconomical. 3D printing means parts can be produced on demand and on short notice across the world.
