Not the smartest new trainee fireman.

There's no problem 'til the train comes through, but the trainer should have asked the trainee if he'd ever seen a train before.

Well on the up side, if a train does come along they'll end up with 3 hoses where now they just have 1.

..trust me.. thy will.

..it must be the volunteer fire department.

then again.. If the regular fire department spent less time getting their entry ready for the chili cook-off an more time thinking about work, then these things would never happen.

For the volunteer FD, a fight broke out on who gets to drive the fire truck back to the station.

Mayberry RFD All Volenteer Fire Department just got their first electric fire truck.

it was too late when they realize they ran out of electrical cord less then a block away.

Might work if there's enough snow and ice clogging the tracks. We recently had a locomotive derailed by ice on a road crossing in Couer d' Alene.

This engineer said his most interesting collision was a player piano. These people were rolling a piano across the tracks and got stuck and had to abandon the effort when his train came along.

The wrong kind of hose ramps...

("The wrong kind of snow" became a catchphrase in the UK after some moron used the term to explain delays to trains over the media one snowy winter here. 1" of snow and the country grinds to a halt....)

The good news is that the fire department got to the site of the train derailment in good time (before it happened). The bad news is that the fire hose developed a leak and was useless to fight the blaze.

One has to assume there was a "need" for this invention. Not sure what it was though.

You should have split the post.

For the first comment, it's worth a GA. It would have been a coffee spit-take GA if i had been drinking while reading(1).

For the second comment, it's ... meh. Not bad, but not great. Neutral vote.

Notes:

1. I learned my lesson about that. Fool me seven times, and all that.
