I know, right? This isn't really all that uncommon.

Re: Caption This for 12/30/16

Reminds of a project I had done for one of my customers. A customer was moving their Weigh scale platform that had (2) Triangle weigh scales on it to another room in their production plant.

It was about 28ft long. My competitors bidding it out by cutting the platform deck in pieces it was 8' x 28' long.

I wanted the job, I thought I could move it one piece, so I measure the path, and actually work it out in cad, it had a couple of turns, and the tightest area was actually a U turn and I'd have about 2" to spare.

I sweated this out, because I came in 1/3 the price of the others to do the work. If it work, I'd made about 150% profit, if it didn't, I would have lost well of 5 figures. It had to work.

Moving it, we had the forklifts on both ends just like the picture. I drove the trailing forklift. We past the clients production lunchroom that had a 4' window. And when I passed the window, I looked in and the clients employees were on break, all were staring at us with their mouths open.

I started to laugh because the look on their faces, it reminded me of this laurel and hardy skit.

Ah yes, that is a classic, done many times, by many comics.

I don't think I've seen variations 2 & 3 done before, that's giving me some ideas for some Variety Show skits.

there was another scene I recall, where the board would pass, with no one one carrying the lead end, and Hardy was going to take a swat at laurel on the trailing end, but when the trailing end came, there was no one there either.

I still laugh just thinking about it.

The last scene in the Youtube clip was Laurel carrying the front end, nobody carrying the back end, and Laurel walking through the scene a few paces behind the plank.

That 4th version didn't make it to the YouTube clip, probably because of time constraints back when the clip was posted.

That pic deserves to be a "Caption This!" entry all its own, a clear case of 'reckless redneckitude,' to borrow the phrase from Kahn Souphanusefone on the old King of the Hill cartoon.

As mad as that looks, I've seen very similar done on construction sites.

I'll not detail exact, but I have been in situations that leaft me shamed. Take a huge risk or we just get somebody else to do the job. It's the nature of heavy engineering. Not easy to live with when you see people die.

The mechanical version of a "push-me-pull-you".

Or is this the preliminary prototype of Lyndoor trash compactor?

Standard day the TCMtech shop, only I do it by myself. The left machine gets put in low forward and the rear facing right machine I drive and steer to get where I need to be.

You drive two forklifts at the same time?

Just wonderful, now you made the OSHA Indian cry.

That is because you are at TCMtech where safety not only not rules, it does not even come through the front gate!
