Could that be a tennis court or other sports area near the right with a wind break? I can't think of another reason for a covered (open sided) area to be that high.

Or maybe it's some kind of horticultural establishment: looks like an orchard at the front, and the covered area could be an arboretum.

The conglomeration of architectural styles reminds me of the Carnegie Mellon campus in Pgh.

Looks like some palm trees, which Pgh., PA doesn't have.

Ah, very good point. When I was there some wag put a pink flamingo and a fake plastic palm on the ledge outside his office window but that hardly counts.

There are no palm trees in the 'guess the architecture sketch'.

It looks like a conglomeration of buildings, of different eras and styles, rather than a single building. It's probably some museum that has been added onto, with no attempt to match the style of the original building. The building in the middle I'd guess was done sometime in the 1950s or earlier, the stuff on the left was done in the late 1960s or the 1970s, and the stuff on the right was done in the late 80s or 1990s. Each new architect felt it was necessary and proper to thumb his esthetic nose at the previous architects.

The overall effect is hideous enough to fit in on most US college campuses.

Exactly -- that's why I thought it could be Carnegie Mellon. And I thought I saw a corner of a building that looked like it could be one of the Hornbostel buildings.

SolarEagle: By appearance, it well could be many places within Florida but will lodge a guess it is either Orangetree Resort or Awatukee GC in Arizona on a wild Flamingo shot in the dark.

I'm going to guess it's a college campus - not Carnegie-Mellon in Pittsburgh.

The building for 10/16/2018 was actually the Hunter Museum of American Art. Congrats to Usbport for guessing a museum!

Located in Chattanooga, Tennessee, the museum "represents three distinct architectural stages: the original 1904 classical revival mansion ... which has housed the museum since its opening in 1952, a brutalist addition built in 1975, and a 2005 addition designed by Randall Stout."
