Looks Geogian to me. I assume that the twin symmetrical steps lead to the master entrance and the servants entrance is directly below.

I believe there is a difference between UK and US which may confuse searches: we would say that the main entrance is on the first floor; I believe that in the US you would call it the second floor, am I right?

The 2nd floor is called a Mezzanine.

I thought it looked Georgian, French colonial Georgian style .

I've got to quit Googling these buildings -- I'm getting too many ads from people trying to sell me a house!

I'd say that the Queens house was pretty close, though clearly not the one Maggie drew.

"The Queen’s House was commissioned by James I’s wife Anne of Denmark. She had reportedly been given the manor of Greenwich after he swore in front of her when she accidentally killed his favourite hunting dog."

Close but no cigar:-

This one is described as "White house style" or Palladian architecture.

I believe Randall has it. The difference is entirely in the addition of the porches, which necessitated a different set of entry stairs. Perhaps someone could find out from the history of the actual home if the drawing was a first sketch or proposal.

..."Drayton Hall, SC front

Drayton Hall was built for John Drayton and was completed in 1742. It is the only plantation house on the Ashley River to survive the American Revolution and Civil War intact. It's style is Georgian with Palladian influences. It is now owned by the National Trust for Historic Preservation"...

It's all very well but no one likes a smart aleck.

I just got the wrong side of the right building, but, I have to bow down to the master.

Haha, yes I found it by actually searching your image for similar building types and there it was....I didn't realize it was the same building until I arrived at the blog of a person who was visiting Charleston on vacation and took a bunch of pictures....Even though I lived in Charleston for a few years I don't recall ever seeing this building, but that's really no surprise these type buildings are everywhere and it wouldn't stand out, rundown historic mansions are remnants of the Civil War...
