I ask admin to delete it,but they seem to let you have your way with any and every post.

If you cannot see the obvious racist, un-American, vile message you send then you too are offensive and all those who contributed to your racist message are also!

This is NOT humorous, it is SICK, and so are you all who let this continue!

While it's a poor choice of Halloween costume for a youth far too young to be exposed to the harsh reality of Hannibal Lecter. I can only surmise it's the parents that should be questioned for follow through with this costume and literally rolling it out in public.

I doubt the parents who pulled this off had any racist intentions any more than SE does. The reason the Moderators allow SE to have his way on this is simply because they don't agree with your statement.

...If you want to be offended. it's easy. If you want to get along.. well that's easy too.

If your going to call me a racist.. which you just did. I'll say you're misguided.

Maybe I'm misguided and you're actually a sweetheart full of good intention, but you seem a little angry over the most trivial of matters.

The term ‘racist’ has no meaning anymore,... people abuse it by applying it to people who has a different point of view then their own.

When I was 9 years old, our town had a community Halloween party.... and as a 9 year old, I dressed up as my favorite breakfast condiment representative...

But those were different days...

Doubt that,... I’m sure you’ll offend someone by saying that.

I’m waiting for Merriam-Webster’s dictionary updating the definition of the word ‘racism’.

Too late... definition 2a,... soon it’ll be #1.

racism

noun rac·ism | \ ˈrā-ˌsi-zəm also -ˌshi- \

Definition of racism

1: a belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race

2. a: a doctrine or political program based on the assumption of racism and designed to execute its principles

b: a political or social system founded on racism

3: racial prejudice or discrimination

Re: Caption This for 7/19/2019 tornillo de cubierta Beverage antenna

Beverages: How Short Can They Be?

This one definitely fits in my back yard. It came out of the deck. End feed, traveling wave, shrunk to the newer sub-millimeter cellphone bands, Beverages are no longer only for 160m. The hybrid, also called a slotted waveguide, is an exotic while venerable configuration now working well in both transmit and receive modes. Just point it at any of the new circularly polarized, sub-millimeter towers and reap the benefit of the highly directional Beverage technology. Cheaply made in Mexico under the auspices of the new USMCA the manufacturer calls it the tornillo de cubierta Beverage or deck screw Beverage . You can buy it at electronics outlets for $50 each or at a big box hardware store for $20/lb.

I don't think think it's a beverage as it doesn't have a weather resistant coating..

A beverage shouldn't rust a proper beverage.

Re: Caption This for 7/19/2019 tornillo de cubierta Beverage antenna ELSSA

07/27/2019 7:50 AM

Engineered Litz Signal Sucking Antennae(ELSSA is her name)

"..it doesn't have a weather resistant coating.." Really ?

I see no glint off of this deck screw: I do not see shiny metal. Most deck screws have some corrosion resisting coating or other. Rust IS a common problem when one attempts to use barbed wire to create a Beverage since the strands are often not continuous across the whole length and I believe that is the impetus behind your quotation. Phosphoric acid in many popular beverages as well as carbonic acid will rapidly corrode a chunk of uncoated barbed wire serving as an easy test of the appropriateness of some wire sample for use in a classic Beverage antenna for a long term installation.

I think the second beverage in your quote should have been uppercase:

A beverage shouldn't rust a proper Beverage.

since the antenna is named after its creator, Mr. Harold H. Beverage.

I also think that there might be some confusion inherent in the original statement since a Goubau transmission line works better with a speed of light lowering coating surrounded by a faster speed of light nearby air volume but many successful Beverages have been implemented using uncoated electric fence wire. Even the Goubau transmission line is found to work in practice without a coating per its wiki due to the finite conductivity of normal metals. One might argue that there is always some coating due to oxidation of the metal.

I find it interesting that modern chip design has had to use two 45 degree angles to turn a clock net 90 degree corner with lower losses, just like the Goubau transmission lines of yesteryear had to turn corners slowly to keep the signal following the path of the effective waveguide transmission line. Also, modern fiber optic cable strands use gradient density glass to achieve far higher efficiencies by gently coercing the light toward the center of the fiber using an index of refraction gradient. As the speed of light deviates from the center of the fiber the energy begins to travel faster and thus smoothly turns back toward the center. In all of these cases, the underlying phenomenon is conceptually the same. If the desired path has a slower velocity of propagation(VOP) than the surrounding alternatives, the electromagnetic energy will gracefully track the path of slowest propagation to a useful extent. It may also give a hint as to how to better engineer Litz wire bundles by creating longer electrical paths toward the center of the bundle(by perhaps using more turns per length) than toward the edges. A flexible printed circuit sheath might provide straight outer strands with a higher VOP thus turning the energy slightly inward. What say you, lurking experts ? Has this already been done or can we casually implement a Litz improvement ? I realize that Litz has classically been used at longwave frequencies, could this tweak extend its usefulness farther into mediumwave realms ? Could a serpentine strand flexible printed circuit Litz with a gradient length of strand be rolled up with the longer waves in the middle to make an engineered gradient density, high queue, low cost, low loss, higher frequency cable ? Yes, I understand that the longer central conductors will eventually overwhelm any VOP advantage with increased resistance of the inner strands. This VOP concept might lead to some higher efficiency, parallel strand, end feed, signal sucking antenna configurations with cheap manufacturing techniques which might have even present much higher frequency opportunities. Think of it as a gradient density fiber optic cable implemented in copper with the skin effect compensating features of Litz.

I plead guilty of using a comic picture to illustrate concepts which many will not understand. Comedy usually contains enough truth to tickle one's imagination. This humor tickled mine. I mourn the fact that others will not appreciate just how many concepts the deck screw illustrates. I do recognize that humor is dampened by forcing the viewer down too deep a rabbit hole. I still find it satisfying to note that the temperature seems to have increased since I followed that rabbit hole significantly closer to the hotter center of the earth.

...and it certainly isn't a "smart" phone.
