A Good Year for Gears

Posted December 23, 2007 7:23 AM

With the start of 2008, we can look back and proclaim 2007 a pretty good one for the gear manufacturing sector. According to a recent Gear Technology survey, in which 58% of the more than 400 respondents work in the U.S., an overwhelming majority (88%) were optimistic about their near-term competitive abilities, and most reported large production volume increases in 2007. Growth is predicted to continue into 2008, although manufacturers are challenged to retain qualified personnel, improve throughput, reduce lead times, and lower costs. Do your company's prospects coincide with these industry-wide trends and forecasts for the coming year?

I will agree with most of the incline of demand for power transmissions units. Especially, where the need for qualified personel is required.

I worked in the power transmission business for twenty (20) years and I personallly cannot see when the market was better in the territories that I have covered as a Technical Salesman. My problem now is, I need to find and develop a relationship with a gear manufacturing company that I can work with. In order to bring these much needed services to customers that are in need in my area.

If there is a gear manufacture / repair center that is intrested in my sales / service knowledge as well as customer base I have developed over the last twenty (20) years send me an e-mail to that regard. Maybe we can work together to bring a quality service to our customers.
