Why You Should Never Run Over a Mattress

Posted December 23, 2008 12:05 AM by CarDomain
Pathfinder Tags: Car problems drive shaft shimmy

The owner of this vehicle came in complaining of a "shimmy" at high speeds. I guess 60 pounds of wire wrapped around the driveshaft will do that.

Urban equivalent of an old problem!

At an early age I ran over a sprig of barbed wire out in a pasture, never even saw it. This tendril got picked up by the driveshaft and began winding in the rest of the wire.

When I came to a stop suddenly, being young I backed up. Then fore, then back, then...you get the idea...until I had wound the entire strand around the driveshaft and the only thing left was the "deadman" a buried rock that anchored the end of the wire.

Being very young; nah, I still felt dumb.

Took hours with pliers under the Jeep to get loose - my father laughed and laughed when he heard the tale.

The device being considered by the police there was discussed very similar to this:

For further interest.

It would say that if it was truthful . It's actually, "Will act cute for nuts". Soooo many hidden meanings in that wording !

I found some recommendations on the web, including this ();

What our customers are saying about the
***** Pole Saw

"Thank you very much for the 20 ft pole. It is great!! My son in law ( who is in his mid 30's) was able to do things we never thought possible! We are surrounded by wild cherry, with the hardest wood, but Alberto was able to manage even 5 inch stuff! We are aiming ever higher and higher and now wonder when the 30 ft model comes out? Thank you for a magnificent device!"

Will such a device keep your aged little squirrell legs from having to manage arduous climbs to the acorn mother lode. Are we to see a ground based operation oh great nut hunter?

My secret's in the vault . Here's a terrible joke off TV ; "Where do you find a firemans pole ?" - " Tiling his kitchen". Prolly only works in Britland (lots of migrant Polish workers, especially in construction. Many have returned home - better wages now + less abuse from xenophobic Brits). I got a Tudor Pole somewhere, but that's a whole other story .
