But if Pluto is no longer a planet, can these still be called moons? Any hard core astronomers out there?

Pluto's moon "Kerberos" was discovered and named in 2011. I remembered a CR4 thread (in 2011) by Roger Pink, where he was asking us for a proper name for a "new discovered Pluto's moon". And I had proposed the name CERBERUS (see GA answer #41) in this link:

http://cr4.globalspec.com/thread/70595

And astronomers named this moon KERBEROS. "Cerberus" is exactly the same as "Kerberos". In fact, "Cerberus" is the proper translation for the greek "Κέρβερος" (the 3-headed dog of the Underworld). Is this a coincidence, or someone listened to my proposal???

If what you are telling us is correct, you need to stake your claim to this property before some freeloading bum camps out there and tries to homestead the place.

Some of those moons are probably smaller than my own. Somewhere recently I have seen a report of 7 earth moons, with even quainter names/numbers. I don't know if any of them orbit subsidiarily around our main moon, though.

Proper names in Greek Mythology. Styx is the river between earth and the under world(Hades). Charon is the ferryman that will get you there. The others are creature you may meet along the way. Nix a river spirit. Hydra a three headed serpent. Kerberos you will meet at the entrance of Hades. A three headed hound.

It is where they got the name for those celestrial bodys or rock bands

And for bonus points, Kerberos is based of the Greek word for 'spotted.'

Yes, Hades, Lord of the Underworld, named his guard dog 'spot.'

He doesn't seem like such a bad guy now, does he? Also look at the stories of the Greek Gods, Almost all of them are a bunch of bullies who think that the rules apply to everyone but themself. They cheat, lie, break their own oaths, sleep around. But you never hear much about Hades in those stories. While every other deity was treating the Civilized World (meaning Greece) like one big drunken frat party, Hades was just quietly 'minding his shop.' Taking all that into account, as long as you weren't one of those jerks earning himself an ironic punishment in the afterlife, Hades seemed like he's be a nice guy once you got to know him. And EVERYONE gets to know him, sooner or later.

Sounds like our government.

Yeah, it sure does ...

Wait, that accent, you're on the east side of The Pond. So 'your' government isn't the same as 'my' government. But both governments are packed with idiots and, to put it as politely as I can, A-holes?!?

Ugh, Guy Fawkes, where are you when we REALLY need your help?

Many thanks from me personally.
