Yes, but only if you keep it plugged in to the charger while you are using it.

Seem like a Mayan artifact or something made from Columbia. Which is it?

Neither. Sumerian. This is much older than either.

I'm sure you can, however you may want to add just a little more information like:

  • Manufacturer of the tablet?
  • Model # of the tablet?
  • O.S. of the tablet?

and maybe anything else that you think may be needed in identifying your tablet, we're not mind readers!

Well, the answer to that should be pretty obvious.

However, I'm suspecting something more in your question.

What have you observed that makes you suspect that you should not be charging the Tablet while using it?

Furnished:

a. To provide (what is needed or desired): furnished the snacks for the party.

{I wish I could remember who posted this acronym definition. I've used it many times at work now, too.}

Depends on the tablet and what your activity is....battery or charger could overheat in heavy prolonged game usage, but generally speaking I have had no problems charging any device while using.....but I'm not a gamer....

My next-door-neighbor's cousin had a friend who's brother-in-law read an article on-line recently saying typical batteries incorporated into laptops, tablets and phones are now designed to be used plugged-in without affecting battery life.

The old warning no longer applies about batteries having a short storage capacity if usually plugged-in.

Since OP has not yet responded, I shall "chime-in" HERE.

re: "...typical batteries incorporated into laptops, tablets and phones are now designed to be used plugged-in without affecting battery life."

Perhaps 'Tripper' had prior experience with an MP3 player, such as I had.

I purchased a Sansa Fuze, hoping to store all my favorite tunes on it, to play during long trips in the car. Sadly, the engineers were smarter than me, and knew that it should never be used that way... so they designed it such that as soon as you plug it into power, it goes "Connected", and will not play, until unplugged. So, it can only be played for a while, and then I must "take a break from it", while recharging.

Looking forward to the day, when the new generation of MP3 players ALSO fall into the list above...

I have an MP3 player that works perfectly when plugged in to the acc. adapter.

A few years ago I was making regular trips from Las Vegas Nevada to Escondido California. It worked perfectly for all 5.5 hours of travel... both ways... and it was plugged in all the time!

I am assuming yours is NOT a Sansa Fuze...(?) [care to identify, for the record, and for future purchase reference sake?]

Re: Tablets

ndt-tom,

My apologies. I didn't list the model number because it was just about obsolete when I purchased it at Walmart

  • Philips
  • Go Gear Vibe
  • 4GB
  • 1/8" audio jack out
  • Mini-USB power and data
  • Approx. 1.5" wide x 2" tall x .5" thick

I used to have it mounted on my helmet (with heavy duty plastic Velcro) when I only had a motorcycle to ride / drive. It held up to occasional rain, snow, wind, sunlight, and several unplanned landings and tumbles on the asphalt along with me and my helmet. It is quite durable and fairly easy to operate.
Hope that helps.

Bryan

Thanks for that enlightenment. "I shoulda knowd better." Bought mine at Best Buy, and, when I informed the sales person, the next weekend, at my "confoundment", he assured me:

"They're ALL that way."

Re: Tablets

Here are my comments regarding Best-Buy. About 2 weeks ago they threatened to ESCORT me out of their store with a police officer. They also had approx. 12 employees surround me too.

I wanted a refund on some Bluetooth earbuds that I had purchased a warranty / insurance on. They refused to give me cash and would only give me store credit.

I paid cash and I strongly argued that they give me a cash refund. I walked out of the store with a store credit due to the fact that they refused to talk to me anymore.

Best Buy will never see another penny from me or my family! EVER!

The manager, asst. manager and all the other employees were very rude. (Best Buy on Maryland Pkwy. near Flamingo Rd. in Las Vegas!)

I show my loyalty with my money and my feet! (Meaning I will never step into a Best Buy again.)

GOOD BYE Best Buy Worst Buy!

Besides, eBay and Amazon are much easier to deal with and they ship to my doorstep and their return policy is very generous.

I spend my money where I get the best customer service!

Just another testimonial as to how brick and mortar are stonewalling themselves right out of business. Still they can't seem to grasp why they lose business. Go figure.....

Re: Tablets

I think this also goes to the $15.00 / HR. minimum wage debate.

Why would I want to go to a brick and mortar store and get sub standard customer service from some pierced and tattooed slacker that cares more about their hair color (usually pink, blue, green or a combination) and clothes than actually assisting the customer that is spending their money there and paying their wages.

I do believe that the online stores may bump up the shipping charges once the brick and mortar stores collapse in bankruptcy. However, I won't be perusing the Best Buy web site either. They have lost my business... 100%.

My wife often leaves her ipad plugged in while using it, this does create a problem, the small cable frays where it plugs in to the pad, due to the constant movement. I then have to go and buy a new cable .

Can't say that I have noticed any problem when doing this with my Asus TF300TG although it won't boot up if the battery is totally flat, it needs some charge on the battery first. Surely, if it was a problem, the tablet wouldn't let you operate it while charging?

Yes.

Personally... I would not suggest that you leave the charging connection 24/7.

IF, when you're done using the tablet, check to see if you are still charging.

If yes.. leave connected until charged, disconnect when done and shut down.

If no.. disconnect and shut down.

You can always place tablet on a refreshing charge when you expect an extended period of use or, again, connect the charger while in-use.

Sounds good but don't batteries tend to loose charge when sitting idle?
