Robot a Murder

08/13/2015 7:30 AM

Read in to-day's newspaper a welding robot killed a workman in a auto welding factory located near N.Delhi, India. The workman went near to welding arm of robot which pushed him near the wall and crushed him. Has such accidents happened in other countries too?.

Man, you can say that again! Bubble Bee tuna got off cheap at 6 million. What a horrific way to die. As far as being killed by a robot, the victim has to share some of the responsibility for not knowing the work environment, (not paying attention to where their at in the work place.) I've had to work in and around operating welding robots, when your anywhere near the vicinity of a operating robot it's "heads up!" Period! It boils down to common sense and training, you have to pay attention to where your at in the work environment, no matter how much of a hurry your in.

I was standing next to a welder repairman on a Ford plant production line when a spark (one of thousands) shot out into his Fro. Much like a miniature forest fire, the tendril of smoke indicated the location of the fire. I patted him on the head, He took this as an act of aggression until he felt the heat, then thanked me. I said the next time, I will use a co2 extinguisher.

If he didn't know you,... you entered his 'space'

btw,... how would you have used the co2 extinguisher, by pulling the pin,... or as a swatter.
