I first saw it as a cube with a smaller cube cut out of an upper corner. And then, almost as easily, it looked like an upper corner of a room, with a small cube placed in it. The changing colors made it easier to switch between these perceptions.

One of my many failed efforts at considering Fermat's last theorem.Nice post, Tony, but I am now doomed to pondering that for several hours. I've no idea of the apt emoticon, so you can have several - .

A company logo without a company to accompany.

I certainly don't see an animation.

My wife is an artist who often carries a sketch book with her; she got a great kick out of this. She has done a few optical illusion paintings.

I'll get out of it by borrowing Tcmtech's alternative-universe wormhole.

I see the reason why three orthogonal views are required to properly describe an object that appears in an isometric drawing.

"Oh I see." said the blind man to the deaf mute.

Like previously noted, I first saw one version then the other.

This is a shape that was commonly used as a test for students to interpret in 1960's high school drafting classes. They were intended to show how difficult it can be to adequately describe a 3D object on a 2D media.

A cube subtracted by a mini-cube on the corner fronting the eye view. Individual lights are illuminated at 3 sides, simultaneously and interchangeably. The other side on the perspective view is darkness.

Large cube in background and small cube in foreground.

Took a while, but now i can see the room with a cube in it that Tornado saw. I could at first only see the room when the left wall was blue and the right wall Red and the floor Yellow.

Petty cool, thanks.

Hey!!!! It's 1968 again. I had a very similar poster on my dorm room wall. My trusty GE black light bulb, which still works, made that look awesome. Well, at least we thought so when we when In A Gadda Da Vida was blasting loud and we were a bit spaced out man.. I sat and drew variations on this back then.

Thanks for the "trip" down memory lane, or what I think I remember.

All I see is a placeholder. I don't know why I don't get a lot of images in posts here. It happens with IE, Chrome and Firefox. Did you paste directly into the edit window or did you use the icon?

Do you have a link to where I can view this?

Thanks Lyn,

Now that I'm home, it shows up in the post. It must be something with my company's internet filtering.

It DOES change colors.
