For one thing, there is no such thing as a "wales" head, unless you are talking about some poor bloke from Cornwall.

Wasn't really going after anyone - just wanted to point out that Cornwall is in England not Wales (as Tornado alluded to in #7) - both lovely places just happen to be in different countries. Although you can often see Whales and Wales from Cornwall!

Be careful boyo! St. Paddy was born and raised up in Wales. Cardiff, Newport, Swansea, those are Welsh towns. Good luck with this thread.

It is either the carcass of a giant squid washed up on the beach in New Zealand, or a whale that went on Slimfast for a bit too long.

A wales head washed up on the beach,

Try "Whale's head", it will save a lot of confusion!!

"Wales" has nothing to do with it!!

An octopus that got caught up in a fabric (sail, net, sack) then washed ashore.

JohnDG gets the "good Answer"

I'm still unsure of the mystery meat..

perhaps it's this guy? He could be from wales..

..in any even.. I'd like to see it dragged into the water and pumped full of water to define the shape. Either that or grilled and served to the locals. I'm sure it's fine. Of course I don't want to eat a whales or a wales head either..

It does look like cooled lava.. wearing a sweater. in a bag.. and gloopy

Take a better look here! I think the guy takes a taste at the 1.10 mark..

After further review, it appears our Mexican (inquisitive lot) friends are looking at the dead carcass of a very large cephalopod (octopus), not a cetacean (whale). That would explain a lot about the decay of the suckers first in the tentacles, and the lack of bones other than the "beak".

Since cephalopod was my unspoken guess as well. I'll give it as GA.

Octopus is a little on the chewy side for my to be enthusiastic about eating it. Shark is a whole other kind of nasty..

I've never tried jellyfish. It's probably great on toasted bread with peanut butter and cold milk.

I guess it's time to put on the corned beef, potatoes and cabbage.. (American style Irish)

I'm as hungry as a seahorse.
