Water shortage & toilets

10/27/2007 6:36 AM

Inspired by the water shortage blog entry... Isn't it about time someone designed a low water usage toilet pan* that really does removes the offending material? It must be difficult to design/make a traditional ceramic pan , but with modern flow simulation software it should be possible (Is there a computer model of a floater? ).

The last toilet I installed had a low volume flush but doesn't do the job (even after tinkering to get the maximum water level in the cistern)

You can hardly try before you buy!

Ok I'm sure we'll get some toilet humour, but it's a serious question.

*(This assumes that the dry soil closet just isn't going to be acceptable to the masses)

I think I got us on this pollution topic, but it is none-the-less fascinating.... In the mainstream American news they're currently talking about Mercury in the fish causing cancers, birth defects etc. This is NOT a topic that should be "poo-pooed" off.

If you and I aren't seriously affected by this pollution, our children and grandchildren CERTAINLY will be. In recent years, the American symbol of our freedom, the bald eagle, has made a great comeback. Most people attribute it to the ban on DDT. When that stuff was introduced, it was the greatest thing to come along for pesticides. But look what they later discovered.

CR4 has a good representation of "smart guys" from all over the planet concerning high tech sciences and chemicals. And who REALLY KNOWS the long term affects of these high-tech compounds, fibers, medicines, vaccines, and other chemicals?

It would be interesting to quiz some of these guys about some of the "new" compounds they're working with.

Sniccus,

How it strayed from the original post on water usage from toilets, it pooped out. just like how your post is off topic from the orininal.

The threads are interesting enough, but can be like beating a dead horse, so the topic strayed.

And if you like to talk about the heavy metals, chemicals, pesticides, herbicides and insecticide that are entering our environment and food chain. Add a discussion blog of your opinion, I am sure that it will get quite a bit of responses, because it can be quite controversal.

Don't try to mutant a topic, because then it becomes all about nothing in particuliar.

I will be waiting and good luck,

phoenix911

You're correct, with almost a hundred posts, that topic was beat into the ground....
