What home security system can I use that cannot be hacked or jammed and will work if the power is off?

Smith & Wesson make a great model... And You can get a sign that’s also a deterrent that states;

THIS HOME IS PROTECTED BY SMITH & WESSON

Didn't a young girl accidentally kill their instructor at a firing range because of the recoil from a semi auto rifle?

only to someone with common sense, but for the hypersensitive that has and pushing for a agenda they also include misinformation. Like stating that AR in AR-15 means Assault Rifle, that is false, they have no clue.

Btw, for people outside of the gun debate Circles, AR in AR-15 means ArmaLite Rifle

Here in South Africa we hope and pray that they do their worst while we are not home. Being home when they break in usually results in serious injury, and often death.

Yes .... that's why I, like many middle class South Africans, have 6-foot walls/fences around the property, 3 layers of security gates, electric fencing all around the property, and an armed response company on call.

Paranoid?

A neighbour, who is a policeman, had his house broken into and robbed in broad daylight last week, whilst his mother and daughter were at home. Luckily no serious injuries.

It’s to a point where the society norms are changing in this Country (United States) that if you oppose and put up a resistance to theft and vandals. You get labeled as a racist and a hater. Normally by a group of people that hides behind a mask and anonymity to try to hide their own identity.

as demonstrated here right here on CR4 right on this thread.

Make sure they are females.

Males are vulnerable to be distracted by a female in heat, which occurred at a jewelry store that had trained attack dogs guarding the store.

The thieves simply brought in several female dogs in heat, and cleaned out the place while the dogs were occupied.

In brainstorming, which seems to be where this thread is going, it is important not to close down discussions until all the options are in the open. If there are 50 ideas, and one of them is good, then a good idea has appeared.

There may well be more than 50 ideas, given the single-sentence specification in the original post.

Because of all that:

You need battery backup, hardwired cameras, and cell phone notification from the armed person you hire to watch your home, and his dog butch....

We got 'em...

...or barring that, just insure everything to the max and let the insurance company worry about it....

For one thing,... you mention Domestic Terrorism, yet you stated common theft and vandalism.

is that what you label as domestic terrorism. And now it’s racism and hatred, (thats some grounds for domestic terrorism, in a court of law). So call the police, let them handle it. Or at least report it...

the term racism and hatred is so badly used and abused here on this site such as the AP1 above, by calling it out to people that only disagree, that it has lost it meaning.
as far as being a victim on theft and vandalism, I can understand how you felt violated... but there is no good answer.

And contrary, your question has been answer, and that is there is no solid answer that will stop theft and vandalism. So again, call the police.

and I’m sorry that you’re going through this.

WOW! Whomever you think AP1 is they have certainly freaked you out. Get a grip, man.

I think the Bard put it correctly in the words he gave Queen Gertrude in Hamlet:

"The lady doth protest too much, methinks."

As for our present bipolar politics, the pendulum swings back and forth. Your political preference is now in power here in the US. It might swing away in the near future, it might not. When it does our world will not collapse into utter chaos unless people refuse to accept the other side gets a chance to steer for a time.

The difference between yourself and I,... is I realize the pendulum swings... here today and gone tomorrow... and actually apply it.

so don’t blow it out of proportion...

as far as your statement of,...

When it does our world will not collapse into utter chaos unless people refuse to accept the other side gets a chance to steer for a time.

your lack of criticism on this shows your bias on this is loud and clear. It appears you’re et al use a difference yardstick measure for that.

dont worry, I can’t speak for anyone else, but I’m used to that.

or are you talking about something else other than the thread at hand where you had a melt down and went the way off like you did before and your post is just a facade.

Is that what’s still bothering you?

Remember, I can’t read minds, of what you really want to talk about?

Publicly attacking you?... Really? Why do you instigate it? You’re smart enough to know I don’t let people like yourself do your hit and run comments and then pout when I respond.

I’ll post your PM... so stop talking like a jerk you are. Your facade would be broken...

I see that really bothers you,... as far as nebulosity, I’m only going by observations from your own responses in the past on threads as well as PM. That would. E an example of nebulosity.

At that time, when I was talking about Bankruptcies laws in Italy, and your went off the rails, For reasons unknown to me, only later through a PM, because you had an Italian aquanitce that succumb to Covid, how was I supposed to have known, when you never mention it... you using ‘nebulosity’, you just described yourself.

my question is to you on this thread is why bother at all... or would you like the last word... I’d be more than happy let you have the last word. But you have to say you want the last word.

No home security method perfectly guards from all threats. Just look at the myriad of thief movies (Ocean's #, The Sting, The Thomas Crowne Affair, etc.) or just ask anyone that's had to hire a divorce attorney. More often than not the vulnerable weak link is a person.

There were varied posts here in the past about security...

I recall one was the Push button 4 number code lock instead of a key... where it only took a surprising few try’s to get it to open.

We have neighborhood watch where I live, there's always somebody watching on every block...You sign up to watch for a couple hours on certain days...You might try that...

You could also set up trail cameras around the property that recorded the house from a distance, under camo cover...

We have similar things where we live here... there are routines,... that the neighbors know... this may sound like a bad thing, but since the neighbors knows each other’s routine, and when that routine is broken something... neighbors would come to investigate see what’s going on...

It’s like the old rural farmers used to be...

i have a ring video camera. for $30/month it records and stores intruders. controls through a smartphone too. it also has neighborhood watch groups where others warn of nefarious activity.

i don't believe there is one fix. all of the suggestions in combination work well i believe.

Re: Domestic terrorism

There is nothing made by man or programmed by man that cannot be hacked or bypassed by another man,or group of men.

Some take longer than others, but it can always be done.

An alarm system or camera system is vulnerable to electronic jamming or physical spoofing, even the old fashioned analog phone lines can be intercepted and diverted without even going near your home.

Even if you have an old fashioned rotary dial phone, the pulses are converted to digital before the call is completed.

Your phone can be tapped remotely with a device that is factory installed in every telephone, mandated by the government years ago.

I remember a loud protest about the "chip" being installed in new phones, but the noise finally subsided, and I don't hear much about it anymore.

Can't remember the common name for the chip.

Technology has moved on,and it is probably been relegated to the recycle bin by now,but I am sure it was replaced by another even more undetectable technology.

All phone calls are intercepted and sifted for keywords and stored at huge government run facilities.

There is no such thing as privacy in today's world.

A net connected camera can record activity and send it to your account,so you can have a record of the activity.

The doorbell phone is cheap and fairly good.

Multiple cameras operating at different frequencies are better than a single one.

There is a possibility of using quantum computers to create totally secure communications, but it is may years away from becoming practical for everyday use.

Personal defense is the best way,and yes,it is better that you are not at home when a break in occurs, because someone is going to jail,or the hospital, or the morgue.

Even in self defense, you will be arrested, and questioned, and possibly held until your attorney general makes a decision.

"semi-automatics occasionally jam",

this usually happens because the operator doesn't know how to use it (limp wrist), or it is a cheap version. if this was an issue, every police force in the USA would not be using them.

I repair more revolvers than semi-autos by a long shot.

With all that said, a person whom is not well versed in firearm safety (practicing at the range), a revolver is the only way to go. I would also recommend a .410 shotgun for women and smaller statured males. Mossburg makes a nice home defense model.

Re: Domestic Terrorism

The best and easiest and cheapest I can think of off hand is hooking a trickle charger to a deep cycle battery, and then connecting that to a small power inverter so you can run a 10 to $20 motion detector outdoor flood light that runs 110 volt system... And you put the motion detector where you want the motion detected, unscrew the light bulb or back wire one of the light bulb circuits to turn a battery charger on when motion is detected...Then hook one or more car horns up to the battery charger. VoilA done....there are several more expensive options but most of the stuff is probably already laying around you or your neighbor's home, or less than $20 in a junkyard should have you a viable system depending on what you have to pay for a decent decycle battery, or cobble up an alternative low energy power source of 12 volts to run it... It all depends on how long you want the alarm going as you how much power you need . You could probably do this all without the inverter with a 12 volt motion detector system but I'm not sure what those run off top of my head

Some people who can read aparently have comprehension issues.....even hooking the 110 lines straight to a doorknob and wet doormat off a power inverter probably wouldn't be a problem because the inverters trip rapidly if overloaded anyhow

Re: Domestic Terrorism

10/27/2020 3:06 PM

Okay if this topic is still open something came to mind. I had a small house for a while in Gallatin Tennessee in a bad area of town known for crime... I happen to like critters so had a rainbow corn snake, about a 6-ft long rat or chicken snake, and a hog nosed snake. If you don't know what you're looking at the rainbow corn snake looks like a coral snake but the colors are red black and yellow bands not red yellow and black. The rat snake look like a big black mamba or something if you didn't know different, and if you ever aggravated a hognose snake, you know it coils up raises up and puffs outlike a cobra,..... I would sit out on the front porch after work and be handling one or two of them on the porch swing . My house was never broken into . A month or so after I moved out the county health department and sheriff's both contacted me, because the landlord was afraid to go into the house and so were the neighbors because they thought they were poisonous snakes possibly left behind when I moved. I left and told them what the snakes were and asured them that they were all with me and none were poisonous.....I imagine that constituted about the best home defense system I ever had the whole dang neighborhood thought I had poisonous snakes in the house, LMAO people are so stupid but sometimes stupidity works in your favor.... So if you're not one of the ones afraid of snakes just get yourself few larger ones,,and allow them to get some sunshine in your lap out on the porch in view of all around..... Never thought I'd put snakes up as a home defense mechanism but, these days but might be a viable option, LOL good day all

My company is Certified to design and install security systems for SCIF rooms. This is some of the highest security available, used by the US Government, Military, and Military Contractors, and is almost unhackable.

I say almost unhackable, because people like me who know how they are designed can hack them.

See where this is going?

Re: Domestic Terrorism

10/28/2020 9:39 AM

my father lived in a neighborhood that originally was all white European laborers. As the children grew we moved out, and blacks moved in, trying to leave the crime ridden neighborhoods to raise their children in a safe environment. All of the new neighbors were great people and the neighborhood was still safe. As their children grew into young adults, problems started.. and it got worse. my fathers house was robbed twice. gunshots were heard daily.

i put up several large fake cameras that appeared to surveil the area. it worked as he didn't have a problem afterwards.

I finally got him to move out. it took a lot of arm twisting as he didn't want to leave. he ended up selling his home for $10K (competing with foreclosures) he lived the last 8yrs a happy safe man with me (in the country far from that mess)

the neighborhood is the "Collinwood" neighborhood in Cleveland, Ohio. these days a person (especially a white person) will get killed just driving down the streets. even the councilman warned people not to go into the neighborhood as it was controlled by gangs. This is the normal progression of a "good" neighborhood to a "bad" neighborhood. Those that are not familiar with this sort of decay will consider it racist. but, as we say, "it is what it is".

Fake Cameras (and signage) work well and basically do the same thing, deter crime.

And these outbreaks of terrorism are not sudden off the cuff, but well organized, orchestrated and funded...

the racist, hatred riots in Kenosha, Wisconsin, it’s just being uncovered now.

there’s a reason these hate groups go under anonymity, they believe they’re clever because they believe they can fool the weak minded, which they do...

Re: Domestic Terrorism

Ever wonder why protests and demonstrations get started almost immediately after some announcement by the Trump Administration? How anti-gun marches get set up so quickly after a school shooting? Huge marches on Washington DC are organized so quickly? Read this and you'll know why. Go ahead and google “Organizing for Action” (OFA)

An article from the New York Post:

I do not understand how living in a country with its democracy established over 200 years ago, and now, for the first time in history, suddenly we have one of our former presidents set up a group called “Organizing for Action” (OFA).

OFA is 30,000+ strong and working to disrupt everything that our current president’s administration is trying to do. This organization goes against our Democracy, and it is an operation that will destroy our way of governing. It goes against our Constitution, our laws, and the processes established over 200 years ago. If it is allowed to proceed then we will be living in chaos very much like third world countries are run. What good is it to have an established government if it is not going to be respected and allowed to follow our laws?
If you had an army some 30,000 strong and a court system stacked over the decades with judges who would allow you to break the laws, how much damage could you do to a country? We are about to find out in America!

Our ex-president said he was going to stay involved through community organizing and speak out on the issues and that appears to be one post-administration promise he intends to keep. He has moved many of his administration’s top dogs over to Organizing for Action.
OFA is behind the strategic and tactical implementation of the resistance to the Trump Administration that we are seeing across America, and politically active courts are providing the leverage for this revolution.

OFA is dedicated to organizing communities for “progressive” change... Its issues are gun control, socialist healthcare, abortion, sexual equality, climate change, and of course, immigration reform.

OFA members were propped up by the ex-president’s message from the shadows: “Organizing is the building block of everything great we have accomplished. Organizers around the country are fighting for change in their communities and OFA is one of the groups on the front lines. Commit to this work in 2017 and beyond.” OFA’s website says it obtained its “digital” assets from the ex-president’s re-election effort and that he inspired the movement. In short, it is the shadow government organization aimed at resisting and tearing down the Constitutional Republic we know as AMERICA.

Paul Sperry, writing for the New York Post, says, “The OFA will fight President Donald Trump at every turn of his presidency and the ex-president will command them from a bunker less than two miles from the White House.” Sperry writes that, “The ex-president is setting up a shadow government to sabotage the Trump administration through a network of non-profits led by OFA, which is growing its war chest (more than $40 million) and has some 250 offices nationwide.
The OFA IRS filings, according to Sperry, indicate that the OFA has 32,525 (and growing) volunteers nationwide. The ex-president and his ‘wife’ will oversee the operation from their home/office in Washington DC.
Think about how this works. For example: Trump issues an immigration executive order; the OFA signals for protests and statements from pro-immigrant groups; the ACLU lawyers file lawsuits in jurisdictions where activist judges obstruct the laws; volunteers are called to protest at airports and Congressional town hall meetings; the leftist media springs to action in support of these activities; the twitter sphere lights up with social media; and violence follows. All of this happens from the ex-president’s signal that he is heartened by the protests.

If Barack Obama did not do enough to destroy this country in the 8 years he was in office, it appears his future plans are to destroy the foundation on which this country has operated on for the last 241 years.
If this does not scare you, then we are in worse trouble than you know.

So, do your part.. You have read it, so at least pass this on so others will know what we are up against. We are losing our country and we are so compliant. We are becoming a “PERFECT TARGET” for our enemy!
