Measurement

02/29/2008 12:44 AM

I saw this on Globalspec

http://www.olympusndt.com/en/35/?apd=1&adid=pan2&acid=glbsp

Measuring the thickness of the glass without breaking and other amazing stuff.

Can we do away with our "outdated" measuring equipment?

these tools are used all the time by people in the plastic vacuum forming (thermoforming) business to establish wall thickness on three dimensional shapes. Note - doesn't work (at least haven't heard of too good of any results) on fiberglass structures - the ultrasonics doen't bounce around cleanly enough -
