Hello Guest,

Trichlorethylene is incredibly toxic, and how you are still using that product, in a commercial process, I just do not understand.

People who breathe or have contact with it, suffer damage to brain, nerves, liver, kidneys and a host of other organs.

Sad to say, without a miracle, the damage is always permanent.

You do not advise your location, so it may well be that in your location, the Company does not care about people being poisoned for life.

Eco-friendly degreasing agents:

Mr Google's fine Search Engine produces results, which you may locate a supplier close to the location of the Trichlorethylene use.

Search Terms: eco friendly degreaser = Results 1 - 10 of about 14,900 for eco friendly degreaser (0.18seconds)

Trust you can locate a supplier near to you.

Kind Regards....

Hi Guest,

Are you sure you don't mean 1,1,1-trichloroethane?

Hello Guest,

I don't know where you're located, but an excellent degreaser is Dicro-Clean No. 909 produced and sold by Brownell's (a gunsmith supply house) www.brownells.com

I used it for years to clean guns prior to hot bluing or elctro-plating. It's non-caustic and the fumes won't kill you. It's the best cleaner I've ever used next to trichloroethylene.

Hope this can help you.

Jeff

My friend produces herbal water bases antirust solution. This does not need 4 or 7 tank treatment. If you would like to try then please send me your reply on my e-mail:sureshsharma@yahoo.com.

I have had good experience cleaning metal parts in the past using either:

1. Aqueous (water-based) detergent cleaning solutions, various soaps and soap-like agents, with hot-water and/or mechanical application such as high pressure spray, immersion and agitation/tumbling and/or ultrasonics, etc. Anti-foaming agents may be required as well. The key here is to find a good equipment vendor who can recommend an appropriate cleaning solution for your application. Usually, the equipment manufacturer can honestly recommend a product from experience, without any vested interest in promoting its sales. The solution may require some chemical treatment prior to disposal, so look for something that has the lowest disposal costs.

2. Citrus-based solvents, extracted as a by-product from oranges, lemons, grapefruit, etc. can provide an excellent cleaning and/or passivating solution, which may be filtered and recycled many times before disposal. Since this is an organic product, depending on what contaminants are found, disposal may be as simple as dilution with water and slow-release into the standard waste-water stream. If acidity is very high, neutralization with an organic base may be required as well. As in the case with the detergent solutions, look for recommendations by equipment providers.

Hi Guest we used a caustic soap base water solulution in a chrome plating line not very human friendly though as caustic will continue to eat at any fatty deposits (oil) in ones body if splashd on you.

I recommend using PowerGreens H2Pro Cleaner/Degreaser. It's a green cleaner that actually breaks down grease and oils into their base fatty acids and allows for a better cleaning with no residue. Place parts in aqueous solution, agitate or scrub, then rinse clean. I would also recommend blowing off the part to remove all excess water. This will get oils and grease off in a safe manner without the worry of solvents, voc's or other toxic chemicals in the mix. Check it out at www.thepowergreen.com
