Re: Problem with CD Player Tray

For anyone wondering about the distribution of holes on the top of it, I was trying to find a point where the bolt would penetrate and stay stuck in...it was penetrating but bouncing back out, so I tried the corners after the initial centre(ish) shot.
Then I went for the Tray.

The moral of this thoroughly scientific study is..

If you are being attacked by a crazed CD Player...go for the tray every time.

Once shared a house with a bloke who had a collection of about 1200 albums (vinyl).

One night, he awoke from a nightmare, and had to check his entire collection. It was terrible - he believed someone had hidden an Abba album in there.

Is this a similar problem?

(BTW - glad to see you took the precaution of disconnecting from the mains supply. Was this in case the shock from the bolt inadvertently started the player?)

Just in case of another attack, you should upgrade your bow with MORE psi. If the next player is faster, you might not get shot at the tray. With more psi you could go straight for the heart.

Over here I prefer .45 ACP. You guys have that pesky handgun ban to contend with though. Nice shot. How close did it get before you finally took it out?

Hi,
There was a bunch 'em...they'd come over the garden fence lookin' fer trouble.

Once I took out the leader the rest just took off.
Nuthin' but trouble them feral CD players..we get some old Betamax Video Players too but they tend to just get drunk, or hang around asking for old tapes, and keep out of the way...

When I get one that is giving me problems, maybe I will flip the rock-n-roll switch to AUTO. :) 10 rounds a second, 2 seconds to empty a 20 round clip. FUN!

water buffalo, you said:"You guys have that pesky handgun ban to contend with though."

Not any more! Lots of guns over there now. They are finding out criminals don't obey the laws... more and more problems over the pond with the shady characters.

How long did it take you to make that nice looking little hand gun, Del?

I made that about 25 years ago...can't remember how long it took..but the Walnut stock was from a big limb we took off a tree which had been felled.

It's 50lb draw weight at about 6.5", set up as a target pistol for about 20 yards max decent shooting.

Del, you appear to have a FOD problem! This isn't an aircraft but....

FOD stands for two parts of the same problem. And one can lead to the other.

Foreign Object Debris refers to material or objects that aren't part of the aircraft or assembly that have invaded the product.

Foreign Object Damage is damage to an aircraft, assembly, or other product that harms the product in ways that can be measured by cost, safety, or performance.

As a long time military tech rep called to many a military facility to help diagnose an error that had the locals puzzled, what I can agree with is that it needs to be plugged in but further I would make the recommendation below.

The obvious thing that has occurred is that the suitable substitute part for the drawer handle isn't the correct configuration and johnny military used the incorrect mounting tool. The tool with the greater tension should have been used see illustration ( illustration includes the correct handle unit).

Additionally the apparent lack of ventilation ports may yet be an issue. J/B Weld and a hot glue gun could make it all work again or at least look as if it could work if it were tried.

It might even be a more effective target in this configuration.

Thanks for calling Sand Crab troubleshooting services.

A purrfect example of too much spare time! Has the crossbow been tested on the little offcuts that were left over from the new roof?(Al+polystyrene) You could cut out various life sized villains (and possibly their getaway car!) out of the 'contingency plan' sheets and practice some Bond style 'Jump, roll and fire' moves or even the 'Spring from behind tree and fire' move?

I can hear that fury head of yours whirring. You're getting that tell tale twitch! Quick, grab the jigsaw....

The problem is there was not enough charge on the tip. This is a common error as it tends to leave things in one piece...

Re: Problem with CD Player Tray

I can see the scene.

You are holding the obsolete CD player on your head and asked your son to hit it by the arrow from his pistol while standing on the lawn

and he made a bulls eye !! To recover the arrow, you must open the cover and slowly take out the arrow and save for future shot. Put the player in garbage bin and thank the arrow did not pierce your head. Then the Head and not the arrow was the object to get right .

Why these thoughts,

1.it is a lawn and not home

2.it is unlugged and there is one missing pin on plug. so the CD player was of no use.

3 It has been hit by plastic arrow from a gun. Only children uses it.

4. you did not get an apple handy so put this on your head , to test your Son's accuracy. You thought he will miss the target and you. But you did not reliase his potential.

5 Arrow is in an angle , so it means you tried to recover it , but it has got in and stuck. And you got to open the CD player to take that arrow out. Then bind the arrow in a frame and hang it on your Living Room wall as a memeory of this event by which you discovered your son is a genious .

6 must have purchaseda new CD player with many options, DVD,MP3 etc etc.

I think you might have a hardware issue here.

You might want to try a software upgrade then reinstall the hardware with just a bit more finesse.

With a little time and effort i think we might just be able to get the thing back up and running.

One other thing. Whats that funny looking antenna for? Never seen one on a cd player before or does it have a radio in it as well.

As an amendment to the WEEE directive, a crossbow is the new preferred method of disposal of non-RoHS compliant electronic gadgetry. Flamethrowers, various forms of cutlery, and firearms with calibres greater than .50 are also acceptable. Note: Explosives are only to be used with untrained proffesionals and in excessive amounts.

Ah, there's nothing like hurling a shell the size of a volkswagen to brighten one's day.

Plenty true that! I sat on the Mekong River whilst the Missouri fired 16" shells overhead at inland targets. Freight train overflights would have been quieter.

Man, I'm sorry you were in that particular stupidity, but if you had to be there anyway, at least you got a chance to see the old Missouri lob a few, and you lived to tell the tale.

Good soldier. You did your job and came home to your friends and loved ones. I am very proud of you. You are a great American. Thank you.

That is an impressive gun. I still prefer the Krupp 88 - but this would do nicely in a pinch. Does it come with it's own enemies to target? Is it available in Hot Pink? What are the shipping charges?

Isn't some one dressed as a Medieval Knight in plate armor supposed to come out about now and hit some one with a dead plastic chicken?

Jeez, Enviroman, what is that, besides being a modern Gatling gun! What is that ordinance behind it, the silver cylindrical canister. If that is a keg I want to know your 10-20. Very impressive - muy macho!

That thing of beauty can be found in any A-10 warthog.

It's a shame they decommissioned the A-10. It was a lovely bird, very nimble, light on the joy stick. Good Plane.

It was always unnerving to see the Warthog. With it's short runway capability and the fact that it could move low and slow when it wanted to and still shoot milk-bottle size rounds made it a great player in South America and in Gulf 1.

Didn't the Air Force replace them with the Black Hawk 'chopper?

They're still in the inventory. Four of 'em did the over-flight at last weekend's NASCAR opening ceremony following the presentation of colors. Saw it on TV...

Yepper - an electrically fired "Gatling" gun, and the can behind is the magazine. As per Vandarye, main armament of the A-10 Warthog. I've watched 'em fire, and it IS muy macho indeed!

You started to watch 'Moulin Rouge', thinking it would be good, and then got all upset when you realized how bad it was after the first minute.

They may not meet EC reg's on mesh size ; they're very strict on that sort of thing. Mrs K just doesn't understand my earnest endeavours to observe ladies on the high street to ensure that they comply with regs. My explanation that "Dolphins could be in danger here" just doesn't seem to work. I tried to explain stocking levels and suspension, but she didn't believe my interest in fisheries and bridge construction. Whilst recovering from my slapped face, I've polished my shoes so they gleam like mirrors. Little does she know of my intent when I said I needed a new scanner.

Black is OK for nighttime wear, but for days, try these...

...with a much finer mesh, which prevents damage to dolphins, and the toes have turtle release vents.

Yes, I think I see the problem. Several hits are high and to the right, indicating you stopped breathing before firing. Try taking a deep breath, holding, then exhaling slowly. If that doesn't work, consider switching to a Fox double-barrel.

Or maybe one of these:

Pay no attention to the skwirrel (Kris), it's an "industrial shotgun", 10 ga., used for blasting built up slag out of foundry vessels and kilns. Believe it or else, there's really no other economical way to do that, so these things are right common in certain places. The one pictured is a Remington...

Yeah, of course it is. I purchased some emergency 'water carriers'. They can be found in the gentleman's room down the pub, in packs of 3. Vending machine, currency UK price £2. Amazingly you can get at least a gallon in one, although I have never achieved this.

"So good I bought the company". Like heck I did. Is that bloody Victor bloke still about ? I prefer 'Bic' and a wet shave 'cos I don't like the noise. Oh no, I'm griping again. Who the heck made me do that, bet it was some annoying person who has an answer for everything.rant... rant....rant.....

Hello Del the cat

I would be serious about the problem, and looking earnestly for a local Cock Robin.

There may also be a dead sparrow, in the near vicinity.

Kind Regards....
