LPG Saver

06/29/2008 8:20 AM

Hello,

May I request specialist friends the authenticity of the following claim by a manufacturer which if true should be very use in these days of gas supply crunch. The promise looks too good to be true!

"The cooking gas is passed directly through powerful magnets, placed inside the device. This increases the excitation level of gas molecules, causing their de-clustering. When the gas now comes out of SVI, it burns with increased thermal efficiency. This unique process results in gas saving up to 41%. Up till now, the magnets were used to be placed outside the tube carrying gas which gave low efficiency of the gas saver. The innovative feature of SVI is that, the gas comes in physical contact with the powerful magnets"

SVI signifies the name of company.

Perhaps, my good friend P. T. Barnum can give you an answer to this.

Is that like the Thomas Tusser quote.

Didn't Tusser coin the phrase: "A fool and his money are soon parted".

When I was a kid, the ability of magnets to attract and repel seemed almost magical and no one, it seemed, was able to explain how it worked. They only knew what it did.

It is not surprising, therefore, that people attribute a lot of magical effects to magnetism, because very few people understand it. I happen to be one of those who don't understand it. I also know, however, that it doesn't involve magic.

Magnets affect magnetic metals and also electricity, two things that LPG or gasoline certainly do not have.

Re: LPG Saver

I was forced by accounting and purchasing to test an exactly similar device. I wrote the report summary before I tested the device. The summary said " This device has all of the attributes of a few inches of hose with a wide spot in it and its only value is as a hose coupling or extender.". Becuase I was trying to be nice I didn't call it mmost foolish thing they ever put in front of me. But to sum it up, without some catalyst effect from platinum or XXXX there is no possibility of any change in fuel charactoristics. Regaurdless of any testomony to the contrary, this product is Bll-sht.

Re: LPG Saver

first no reason to heat the fuel period

only put the magnets on the low pressure side of the feed.

i saw 50 % in tests i have done problem was it cooked the top out of the heat exchanger. needed to change the orfice and pressure settings so as not to burn the heater out. on the car we got a total of 40 % no problems it seems the engine can handle it more. also make sure you do not cook or freeze the magnets.

anyone that says this is bull is nuts and needs to stop paying the oil man all there cash !

So, Guest, how about stepping out from anonymity and telling us who you are, and giving us some references to published, peer-vetted work?

Any more assertions of the efficacy of a product like this will otherwise be ignored.

No, no...do not ignore!!!........the entertainment value is priceless. Besides, I'm getting 100% out've my Q-Ray which is wrapped around the fuel pump...........the car hasn't used any fuel in years!

Would anybody know if there is an encyclopaedia detailing these and other likewise gizmos?

John, listen to Duck. Reading this stuff is a real gas, (pun intended). I try to stay out of these threads, but sometimes I just can't help myself. Our posts are futile.

I wish them all well. Show me some real proof, and I'll jump to your side in a New York minute.

Huh? Please send photo of cooked or frozen magnet. How can this burn out my heater? I live in New England, and I really need my heater.

"The promise looks too good to be true!"

That's a pretty good indication that it is NOT true. I know of no properties of hydrocarbon fuel, whether solid (coal, wood, buffalo chips) liquid (gasoline, petrol, benzine, alcohol) or gaseous (propane, butane, methane) that make it subject to ANY influence by magnetism. Snake oil, by any other name, is still snake oil... On a motor vehicle, you might notice a slight increase in mileage due to a lighter load (the cash extracted from your pocket) however.

I completely disagree with you. Snake oil can be made to combust (preferably with some tar and feathers thrown in for the good look).

A magnetized hydrocarbon molecule is spin.

Yep.........the more the spin the more the gluons (glue-ons?)..............culminating in an explosion of self contained rectal feedback (in reverse).....

Whirl them puppies up to enough rpm's, and maybe we'll get some useful work out of 'em yet! Actually, if we could harness the hot air used to blather about these kinds of things, we could power up Chicago for free...

It is like the HHO, "Water as Fuel" stuff, complete nonsense. A scam. A way to separate you from your money. They try to make it sound like science but it isn't. Stay far away from it.
