New CR4 Rating and Score System needed.

12/14/2008 2:35 PM

Hey CR4 users, how about posting your view as to what an improved CR4 posting rating system could look like, and how it could function.

Perhaps a tally system that encourages readers to rate every observed message and then spits out an answer based on five or ten ratings of Good an Bad would be a more effective way to properly rate messages? I often see message rated with good answers, and I whish there was a way to challenge that, or add to the tally - good or bad.

CR4 Users - post your comments, and rate, if you can.

You might look into open source software for the equation editor and circuit diagram generator. Maybe add a basic CAD package as well. Instead of making them part of CR4, set them up on a separate website, but integrate it with both CR4 and GlobalSpec. I believe Solidworks or Solid Edge, and Autodesk, have already done something like this. Make it free for users if they are going to post their work to CR4 or to communicate specifications to a supplier through GlobalSpec, but if a business wishes to use it to transmit updates to a client, then charge a basic fee.

I'd like to see various font sizes added to the comment editor, and/or text color. When it comes to some of the less serious posts, text color could add to the fun. It can also be used to set off quotes from other comments or external websites. Different text sizes would allow people to not only SHOUT, but to SHOUT LOUDER, so I can see why you might not go along with it. Doesn't stop me from wanting it tho.

Oh, and a polling feature would be nice too. When someone sets up a thread, they could present several options for people to vote on.

Before I forget, again I commend you and the rest of the staff at CR4 on all your efforts.

I'll 2nd that!

along w/DKWarner's & 3 Doug's suggestions

You can post links to various attachments, I believe CR4 is trying to keep the costs down by not allowing attachment other than pics, the pics are resized to keep the file size down, hence the low resolution.

These guy's will give you 50gb of free storage: http://www.adrive.com/static/aboutus_features#file_upload

which you can use to store whatever you want & link to for all to see!
