True, but there are certain numbers that are impossible to ignore, 16 (drivers license) 21 (Alcohol) 49 (oh no, I can not be facing 50) and 100 ( lots!).

The fact that the score is a result of peers approval makes it of value.

It garnered neither a good answer nomination, nor good answer votes, nor a thank you from the person requesting the information.

It spelled out an analytical procedure clearly and concisely, explained the limitations and hazards, and was such that it could be easily performed by a 'Newbie.'

I think that it shows that the ones rated "good answers" are really the tip of the iceberg.

However, the good-answer-per-post ratio is to some extent meaningless, because many people had a couple thousand posts before the system was instituted. Take Kris, for example: today he has 8028 posts and 27 GA's. On the day that the GA system started, he had, if I recall correctly, 8001 posts already accumulated. (You may want to verify this with him, but I am pretty sure that's the correct figure.) So let's see... if we do the math, we find that ALL of his answers since the GA system start have been good.

ROFL ! I have a feeling this suggestion may be proved false, quite possibly within a mere 24 hours. However, I can reveal that when you reach 8000 posts the GA score keeps re-setting whenever it reaches 28. Just watch me and see. It might be a good idea to include some provision for your descendent's to keep track of this.

I also do not run after GAs. Otherwise, it is little easier to avoid general posts and post only serious answers to the thread to get more GAs. I like approach of those like Del the Cat.

But there is no harm in congratulating people with good ratio and good numbers. Otherwise, Milo also need not be congratulated for is 100th GA (in comparison with Kris).

At the most in congratulating, some people like Kris may not get any congratulations irrespective of their contribution.
