A complete switchover to bio diesel would almost guarantee less food and higher food and other prices. (Agricultural land, water and produce will have to be used ).

Bio diesel will have to play its part but should only use surplus capacity. The rest of the fuel will have to be a combination of sustainable existing and new technology. If not I am counting on the French (of which I am a distant part) to storm the Bastille or the Americans to throw the tea in the bay.

Every one should apply his (or her) mind and devise new ways but please just don't call it Global Fuel.

Mr.Hendrik, there has to be a development towards "GREEN REVOLUTION".THERE may many resource for fuel, but think about our future generation. In what environmental condition they are going to live.I think the path to use bio-product would the best solution. The U.S.A government is spending million & of dollars to develop bio diesel, bio petrol etc.I would like to have your personal e-mail ID.My mail ID is ammasivarajan@yahoo.co.in.I also want to know whether you are a post graduate, professor.

Biodiesel technically ok, but not a feasible project. As an example, we were working on a bio-diesel project name Stolt NFE Biofuel located in US, during 1st quarter of 2007, but the project didn't come-up due to food crisis after math. I don't see a good future on bio-fuel project considering compromising on food. The alternative best fuel is hydrogen, technology of which need to be developed to make it commercially feasible for a permanent solution of fuel crisis.
