All 33 Chilean Miners Out...Hooray!!

10/13/2010 9:21 PM

Just felt the need to say something.

To see these guys get out alive and well is awesome!!!!

And definitely a reminder of how connected all of us are.

Yep, it's a good story. How they maintained their sanity during the first 17 days is just amazing. The rest is history.

I was also very impressed by the calmness of the family members.

Hey guys...

Heard there is a 'Moderated Post' party going on over here. Hoo-boy, looks like I missed all the fun! If I lie down on the driveway, will somebody draw my picture with a piece of chalk?

My "fault" this time Lyn. I pressed the 'report this peanut' button.

It's not often "engineering" gets to do something relatively unfettered by all the usual "politicians and lawyers" (or apparently discuss it free of peanuts)

"Astoundingly" it succeeded.

Hopefully there is a lesson in that.

I agree with you, it is wonderful to see all 33 of these miners alive and well.

Yes. I am happy for all of them and their family coming out alive, all of them. God is great.

I remember, back a couple of years when there was a massive earthquake in the northern areas of pakistan, a woman came out alive from the rubbles after over 60 days being buried without any food or water.

The above is on the woman buried 64 days. This all 33 will also go down as survival-story.

Kudos to all you engineers out there for expediting this rescue operation. Shows what can be done with a concerted, concentrated deployment of expertise and resources (are yew listening, BP?).

Saving one life is a wonderful thing. Saving 33 is a spectacular accomplishment.

The World depends upon resources that are won from underground strata. The ingenuity and courage of those that go underground to extract them is a thing of great wonder.

This rescue breaks all records. There will be things to learn from it and to apply to future missions.

The media is usually full of sad/tragic/anxiety-making/alarming/embarrassing news. For once, this is not the case. Though the earlier plight of the 33 miners can only be imagined, the relief and the joy of the Chilean and Bolivian people at the safe return of all their family and friends is a thing to share, to treasure and to celebrate. To everyone involved, "well done".

To me the last guy is the Hero. Imagine! the wait ALONE for the rescue capsule to take the 32rd miner and then return back and then take him up = nearly over 2.5 hours before he is convenienced he came out alive. Possibly the most longest wait ever!

33 miners plus 6 from the rescue staff that went down to assist.

Not many mentions of the 6 that went for the joy ride but they deserve a bit of credit as well. I expect one of them was actually the last one out.

The government was 100% behind the effort - not hindering with a group of 'experts'.

The minister in charge seemed to be sharper than the normal guy in such a position - actually qualified rather than the bunch of fools the white house has in place. That is a big help in itself.

Really! thats new. Imagine when the 1st of the 6th was going down, he must be thinking " sh!t, why did I volunteer", anything goes wrong, I'm history with the 33"

I am sure that a lot of the miners coworkers would have been happy to make the trip to assist their buddies to come up but it would still cause one to pucker up - big time!

This song always got me choked up a bit.

I think it is fitting for the occasion.

Hats off to everyone involved in the rescue.
