ID/OD Controlled Pipes

12/10/2010 4:36 AM

All,

How can one know whether he has to use ID Controlled Pipe or ID Controlled Pipe in his model and how the material selection activity depends on the controlling factor. Pl. explain briefly.

Thanks

Sachin

Do you ever read the replies to your questions?

This must be your nth question about ID/OD.

Pipe dimensions are not controlled by ID/OD but either may be kept constant over classes for practical , economic and other reasons,

To avoid having to make fittings for each class the OD may be kept constant.

With constant ID pipe classes may be changed without much change in friction losses.
