12/23/2010 3:04 PM

Hi to all. Just to know if anyone has the know how of old russian control systems which they had provided in indian steel plants. Our company is in the process of modernising but due to government policies will take some time.I will be very thankful for this

I'll "ditto" the other response - it is not clear what you are looking for. Do you need documentation on these analog controls so you can reverse-engineer them to build functionally identical substitutes - perhaps in digital controls? Please state your needs.

Thats a master suggestion. If it happens the shop will remain trouble free for days. Thanks

it would be a waste of time as old Russian components are un-standard neither meets EEC code or IEE code like control voltages would be 27V DC, 127 Volts A/c etc we designed and replaced the control panel of an Air-conditioning plant on board ship during 70s itself as the replacement components were hard to get from Russia.

good luck

Deep apologies to all for not being clear and being absent for so many days.

Though the second part is not my fault as a major fire took place in cable gallery of my shop and we were recovering after that.

Now the part is that I do want the documentation on russian control systems called ybcp in russian , it is pronounced as u be se r. it has 220 v inputs and 24 v outputs. The system consists of amplifier, ramp builder, feedback closed loop, current sensor, voltage sensor and the readiness check of primary circuit which has reference relays.

The technology is over 35 years old , the control system generates pulses to fire thyristors to drive DC 220v drives.

The drives are basically roller tables and screw downs, with a few exceptions like plate kick off.

My problem is that I am new to the area and almost all the documentation is missing, the people who had the knowhow have retired.I come from a PLC background and all this logic of analog control without knowing what is what is not sinking in.

The government has sanctioned a modernisation plan which is in pipeline but as like all government plans the pipeline is fairly long. Thus I am looking to this forum for help.

Thanks to everyone
