Heat Exchanger Design

Hi, all of intelligent people

Could you please describe to me pertaining to design facts for Heat exchanger? Additionally, when we are designing the heat exchangers, as a designers, absolutely what shall be considered?

Meanwhile, what is main facts that influences mechanical design? Specially, what does relative facts influence on designing a heat exchanger? It would be really beneficial experienced people advise me so as to let me better understand. Also, overall concept to design the heat exchanger would be helpful.

  • Pressure drop for each fluid
  • Piping connections
  • Size and mounting
  • Weight
  • Material compatibility with the fluids
  • Containment vessel pressure rating
  • Fouling and cleaning
  • Etc., etc.

What type of heat exchangers are you planning to design? Plate/Tubular/Spiral ? What media you wish to use on? flow? temperature?gpm?

"absolutely what shall we consider" - I'd suggest you read a couple of books on heat exchangers, get in touch with leading heat exchanger manufacturers, get their brouchers , study them then decide if it is wise enough to get into this designing business.
