Damn you Edignan.
But with a swish I shal don my Pedantman coat and say aha it's an Audio aircraft locator, as a 'spotter' implies a visual device (nyah nyah etc)...although I s'pose you've still gotta spott the damn thing.
Oh I'm too old for this, <removes cape and gets nice cup of tea>.

Looks like this?

Link to device in use (cannot paste because we don't pinch artists work and it's flash and I can't)

Lemme pour you a tea, What's your poison, hardly matters as I only keep Lapsang Souchong in the house

There now, I'll light the fire and you can relax a bit

It's for knocking down enemy aircraft. You get a dzen people all shouting BANG simultaneously and the sound pressure wave just drops the plane like a stone.

Remember the episode in the Simpsons where Bart is in the police station and gets all their loud hailers and stacks 'em in series? (One of my fave bits)

It's the prototype KrisDelTM "Autoband" march tune generation system, developed as a cost-cutting device for use in military tattoos. Digital Audio Broadcasting has made such equipment largely redundant these days, and there is a rumour that the Science Museum is interested in obtaining one. Such historical developments shouldn't go unrecorded, perhaps?

The other possibility is that it's the latest sound system for PlbMak's Ford Capri. Time moves m o r e s l o w l y i n E a s t A n g l i a....

Old time "brown note generators?"

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Jump to: navigation, search For similar phrases, see Brown note (disambiguation).

The brown note is a theoretical infrasonic frequency that would cause humans to lose control of their bowels due to resonance.
