Why is CR4 Going Onto Facebook and Twitter Types of Blog?

No wuckin' forries. If hackers can infiltrate the big boys they can infiltrate anyone. It helps to be in one location because if my cards are used anywhere else other than from here something has gone wrong and I'll know straight away.

Social networks are the tip of the iceberg. Once you're on the net, privacy as we understand it, no matter what you hear, is gone. At least we must be aware of it. The "anonymous" info that you "willingly" share with the supposingly "targeted advertising" companies, is easily linked with your e-mails and thus your identity. Those that run Firefox, by installing an add-on called "Collusion" will be shocked to see one of the direct ways of how this is accomplished, the vultures read each-other's cookies, using those companies as intermediate, which in my opinion is just like making one only type of murder e.g. by knife, legal. There are of course more professional ways to do that, and authorities do (and must) use them. But the security "holes" deliberately placed on our systems for that exact reason, are often exploited by hackers with various purposes. And we are stuck in the middle of this. And remember, once your "info" is out, it will NEVER get back in. Many will say that denying some of our rights, will make our societies safer. I'm also sure that people like sadamm and hitler was presenting similar arguments. Oh cr*p! S.M.

That's the trouble. As with myself and many others, you are an old hand here. I've lost count of how many people have blabbed their emaill address. Sometimes it's pimping a site, but usually just plain naivity.

There's a case to be made for putting the FAQ/Rules of Conduct a bit more prominent, though folk often 'glaze' over such stuff. Admin must go nuts when they have to clean up and remind people. That said, more than a few time when installing software I check the 'accept and agree' box without reading. There's only so much of the 'obvious' that can be pointed out.

The thread is a useful reminder to all, but I seriously doubt that 'tweeters' would visit CR4 for more than a nonosecond. People on CR4 are by and large grounded enough to know of internet hazards. As with all of life, it's semper ebrius.

btw admin; I long since stopped using the spellchcker, and I can't remove the italics in that last paragraph. The mailbox is also acting odd (comments read are still highlighted as 'unread'). No biggy, but I may as well mention here.

This post might not make me any new friends, but I am pretty sure its fairly accurate BUT ITS NOT FINAL:-

1) The CR4 members that understand the lack of FB & Twitter security, generally are not members of either for that reason.

2) The CR4 members who don't believe how bad the security is AND who are members of either FB or Twitter are living dangerously......

We have seen both here on this blog......and they all know who they are!!!!
