This is the table for the plate thickness for a mild steel,

If my plate thickness is 17mm,what should i do?

Is it an undefined question??(just a sudden question appear in my mind)

2+15=17

15.7+117.8=133.5

Take it to a machinist and have him fly-cut it down to 15mm.

That's too complicated. 157 x 17/20 ≈ 133.4

Several possibilities:

  • Weigh a sample of the 17mm plate and pro-rata the weight to the area of the sample
  • Add the weight values for 15mm plate and 2mm plate together
  • Interpolate between the 15mm and the 20mm plate values in the table
  • Phone the supplier of the 17mm plate, and ask
