Measuring Scale - Marked as "Engine Divided"

I think it means logarithmic scale.

The scale what I referred is a Plain Scale, made out of SS Material and the flat thickness is 1/16 of an Inch - on one side in INCHES, as 1/16, 1/8 division etc. and the other side in CENTI METERES as 1 MM division and not logarithimic scale.

"Devided" would be a misspelling of "divided." "Engine divided" means that the marks were placed by some machine, with some gears or linkages; rather than by, say, silk screening or other copying. (Usually considered as a sign of accuracy.)

It means that the scale is engraved into the metal rather than just painted on.

It appears to be etched/engraved and NOT painted.
