Coefficient of Friction

09/02/2013 6:26 AM

Can anyone guide me by providing coefficient of friction value (i.e Mild steel VS Cast steel) considering rolling friction.

Er, I doubt Dinah is the author. The author, it would seem, tells her; "Dinah won't you blow your horn". The line(s), "Someone's in the kitchen with Dinah, someone's in the kitchen, I know", could be an indication that the <author> was the <someone>.

Please recant !

Or not - I'm just bored

I realized I was taking liberties just for the word association. I imagine the actual author might not even be known.

Unbraked rail vehicles will normally not move on their own due to gravity and in the absence of any other thrust forces when the incline is shallower than about 1:300. The maximum deceleration rate for rail vehicles on dry rails is about 0.15g

It's good to see the question marks decelerating across all threads today.

The topology of the surface will have much more of an effect than the type of metal alloy. The surfaces of a cheese grater have a much higher coefficient of friction than any cast iron skillet.

If it is rolling friction, the bearing type/material would be the most critical factor,

would it not?

Best regards,

John

Search for the answer on the internet!

Hardly anyone asks for help here any more. You all are too lazy to search and just want the answer given to you.

Look it up.
