Hi Propel,

It is difficult for members to help you with such little information.

What do you need/want to control/monitor?

What is your industry? Where in the world are you?

Help us to help you.

John

Hi Propel,

It sounds like you want to keep a check/monitor the productivity/performance of your welders.

That sounds like a good old Time & Motion study with a competent person and a Stopwatch.

If you are wanting to monitor the current and voltage used during the welding process for QC purposes there is myriad of equipment available.

A four channel voltage & current recorder can be attached with one channel dedicated to each of the four welding machine outputs.

The options for recording the captured DATA is dependent on the type of recorder used.

A chart recorder will display and record the test results onto chart paper.

A new age digital recorder can record the captured test results on CD/DVD or a SDHC card.

Some recorders have RF and/or hardwired communications that allow the recorder to be pipelined to a DCS or PLC system to yield an instant display and record DATA in history files.

There are portable welding testers that plug directlly into the welding machine output in series with the stinger that provide excellent recording capability.

A search on welding QC methods and equipment will get you a lot of choices.

If the process you are monitoring requires constant monitoring, but the equipment.

If monitoring is only required occasionally it might be best to rent the equipment so that you do not have to pay for equipment calibration and record keeping files.

Automate the process.

Record everything with video cameras.

My guess is that you want to cheapen/reduce the cost of fabrication of your equipment.

In other words you want to save money. Am I correct?

Could it be that you want to produce a better product?

Tell us WHY you want to do this.
