Dreaming Driving a Black Truck

01/31/2015 6:40 AM

I went to sleep and suddenly transit to a dream of driving a big black trailer and the sad thing is wreck the truck for a reason i did not know. The second glance of the truck was off the road bottoms up and candles were lit on it. I recall the track was loaded with wax and candles. I felt somehow grief of the guilt for the truck but never remebered what i did wrong. What it means?

It means that you are troubled by your dreams. This may or may not be a sign of a deeper problem. A public engineering forum is not the place to sort this out.

Dreams are the brain's way of sorting and storing information, they don't 'mean' anything....other than perhaps your brain is doing it's job.....

We cannot help you here on this engineering forum and we don't do religion on this forum either.

Have you considered contacting another forum for dream or psychiatric counseling (or similar).

Yes I (we) could, but we are not experts in this particular field of the mind and even the experts opinion varies (oh, it is so subjective unlike Engineering, Math and pure Science that are far less so (but again subjective to a certain extent)).

Also it depends on a lot more things than just the contents of the dream (a truck may mean something entirely different to another person) such as relating to the person him/herself, the environment they are in, the experiences they have had, their own interpretations of the dream which may in fact not be what they truly experienced, etc, etc.

Anything we say on topic is likely as helpful as all the off topic comments, we are sooooo unlikely to be able to guess the reason and personal meaning for the dreams without knowing so much more about the person, their person experiences along with a proper education in some forms of mental studies.

Best Janissaries talks with experts.

Hey Jack! If you didn't stay at a Holiday Inn last night, I would back quietly away from this one! ROFL

On the other hand the anonymous poster who started this, by having a dream about a black truck with candles is invoking the vampire carriage myth. It is against all known forms of major religion to be a vampire, so we may assume that nothint of the sort is actually taking place here. If the poster, however, is a real vampire, then please do not tell him what this dream means. If he is not a real vampire, but only an umpire, we need to find out what sport he officiates over.

A flipped over black truck, with lit candles on it could mean several things depending on the season of the year, what color the candles are, are they beeswax or long-chain alpha olefin? Where are the candles placed, how many? It is night or day time in the dream/nightmare. Is the first-person observer of the dream inside, or outside the truck. Is the observer viewing from the side of the truck or from above.

If the truck had a load of Guiness stout in it, and now it is all spilt, then we hate you for ruining the nectar of the gods.

Oooooooook.

Well, I was unwell last night and had some weird dreams, perhaps my dreams and the dreams in question are merely a result of a combination of stress and gas.

No hype. No dancing girls. No pulling a monstrous boat, or anything else. Just a long stretch of desolate highway through the middle of nowhere, and you in a Ram truck. Dodge. Ram. Reliable. Enough said.

Don't tell me I got into your head over a minor suggestion for a dream to process your day! I really do not know or particularly care what you dream about as long as it does not involve me on a skewer, being tied up, receiving bodily injury, or any other form of duress.

My question for you is do you have a panic word? Say your panic word, click your heels three times, and say "Toto, come here, there's no place like home", and you will be back in Kansas. If not from Kansas, then my apologies. They do have bus stations.

One parting thought: When I was a child (I was a child as I recall), when I would have vivid monster dreams, my family and local friends (farm neighbors) would all tell me, "don't worry James, when the monster sees you in the morning light, it will be all the more happy to let you go when it learns what it had caught."

No, no panic word, but then again I very rarely have bad dreams that would warrant the need.

It's a Chevrolet commercial. The epitome of the latest of brilliant but useless commercials. Memorable in many ways but the product being sold. I have to give an approving nod to the group of buskers in that commercial. Apparently switching between a Carpenters and an AC/DC song is musically brilliant.

Maybe a lack of mental alterations were forcing these fantasies to free themselves only in dream time.

Any excuse for a pint, is a good excuse in my book.

What do you say to a pink elephant on a unicycle, besides that's a nice trunk you have there?

First, you must keep a journal of all your dreams. Do not try to interpret them, just write them down.

Second, once you get about 200 pages written out, read them all again.

Third, dreams do not come to you in the order that makes the best sense. Try rearranging them into a coherent story. If you can put them in an order where they seem to make sense, you are almost done.

Fourth, create some characters and dialog to populate your dreams and to provide continuity from dream to dream. Write all of this down and place it in your dream journal.

Fifth, submit this dream journal for publication. With any luck, you will have a best selling novel and be able to sell the movie rights.

I think you nailed it. Your advice should help this poor tortured soul.

Or, it could be a subliminal message from Honest Jack Candle's used truck sales.

I used to dream about running for election as the President of The United States, (the first one with a slide rule of course since this is an engineering forum). Each time I would wake up I realized that I was having a nightmare and there would be more respect if I became a liar, thief, serial killer, fondler, e-mail writer, a West Wing Romeo, organizer of a "breaking and entry" gang all at the same time.

After those dreams I would usually go back to dreaming of my high school girlfriends. Especially the ones that liked drive-in-movies.

Good Luck, Old Salt

Re: Dreaming Driving a Black Truck

When in doubt---> GOOGLE!

Black-->

The color black in a dream means prosperity and happiness.

In a dream, everything black represents money, dominion and power and particularly for those who are used to wearing black. Otherwise, as for those who are not used to wearing black garments, wearing it in a dream means sorrow.

Truck

To see a truck in your dream suggests that you are overworked. You are taking on too many tasks and are weighed down by all the responsibilities. Pregnant women often dream of trucks or driving trucks. This may be a metaphor of the load they are carrying or an expression of their changing bodies.

To see a truck crash in your dream implies that you are feeling overloaded and are in danger or burning yourself out if you don't slow down.

http://www.dreammoods.com/dreamdictionary/b3.htm

That is certainly better than dreaming of a trumpet sounding

Trumpet

To see or hear a trumpet in your dream signifies some sort of warning or danger that you have found yourself in. It may be a way for your subconscious to get your attention.

Same source.

Good Luck, Old Salt

I had a nightmare like that once, then I realized it was all about Bill Clinton. Then the time I was wearing black in my dream, I woke up all wrapped up in my bed sheets, almost like sewn in, and Johnny Cash was on the radio singing "I Hurt Myself..."

The only song worse than that would have been the song about mama getting run over by a damned old train.
