God, I continue to have great difficulty coming up with funny captions for these photos.

Did the man hit the back of his skull on the pier?

Looks awful close, and if he didn't was within inches.

God I hate that photo I've seen of the motorcross guy lost in the air as the bike went on. The one of the parachute airfoil on fire really disturbed me as well.

Some girl was telling me that when I walked into an open stairwell, and fell a story breaking my hip, hand and pelvis, it could be funny.

I told her, really, so far, I'd not found the humor in it.

"Our Test Pilot reports some control issues." -how's that?

Old story from early aviation when linemen pulled down on the prop to start the engine by turning the prop, engine, and getting the magnetos to spark fire the cylinders went in a telegram to base of operations: "Lineman fell into prop, send new prop."

Good grief Transcendian would you please lighten up or at least keep you opinion to yourself and just give a funny line. You are making something that is fun for the rest of us a big downer. Either shut up or just give a line like everyone else and quit trying to force you ideals on others.

To the rest sorry for the admonishment but I really am getting tired of it.

As for the caption: "Just thought I would take the new rocket bike out for a spin."

Man, chill, you are reading it in the wrong voice...
You gotta read it in the 'Droopy Dog' voice...then it's funny.
We all have our foibles, different styles atc.
Constantly up-beat can be just as wearisome... I mean there are even people who don't like my style! (yeah I know it's hard to believe)
Let's have room for everyone eh?
I hope you feel ashamed...you should go sit on the naughty step and think about what you've said.... I hope Tans' isn't too sad.

Oh cmon Del your jus jealous that I got their first. The only thing I was bothered by in particular is that this is a humor blog and up until the last few of these, there has not been one reference to the plight of the individuals pictured and there have been some doozies.

I am sure you know that I have been vocal about a few things myself but I try to stay within the proper forum of the conversation. So no I don't feel ashamed and i reserve the naughty step for those that feel they deserve it.

I respect Trans for his knowledge and have enjoyed a lot of his responses to many different subjects. I hope there is no ill will between us, either Trans and I or you and I but I don't see the need for the downers in a blog that was specifically design for Humor.

At any rate I complimented him on his follow up, and I am sure he is well equipped to fight his own battles.

Re: Caption This for 01/22/10

I'll take all the help I can get!

Back when I was working out as a Stand-up, somebody said I was "Sick", to which I was crestfallen. -"No really, it's good!" they said.

After bombing, dying on stage, my first three times out at the Comic Strip in Fort Lauderdale, Joe Mullen, the manager called me back into the kitchen and told me, "Russell, sex is funny, but love isn't."

I have experimented with humor, and I admire those who have written books that were funny. In all of literature the paucity of comedic books, is a testament to how much harder it really is than drama, or non fiction, or most any other sort of art.

Catch 22, Confederacy of Dunces, Candide, The Flim Flam Man, Double Whammy, The Book of Guys...

Comedy Kills!

-often enough for those who pursue it, literally, when we look at some of the great comics, like Lenny Bruce, or John Belushi.

Of people who hang out on CR4 Kyzine has some great talent as a photo cartoonist.

To paraphrase Mr. Mullen, I'd nearly say, getting killed is funny, but getting injured isn't.

This is just an observation, but, Looks like a rope on the ACME rocketbike and its wrapping around on the guys left leg.

Do you see it?

And for the caption,

Jimmy "Rocketbike" Swenson will perform for the First Time Ever at "The Tommy Bartlett Show" here at Wisconsin Dells his Water jump on his RocketBike and in midair Transition to Waterskier behind his Rocketbike.

Take it away Jimmy!!!

I got to really looking at the picture and it looks like the rope runs all the way back to land to an anchor point. Perhaps to drag it out of the lake after the launch.

Now, judging by the angle of the bike, the ramp and the rope I think this guy is, at some point in time, going to be a candidate for the Darwin Awards. Because it looks like he ran out of rope and ramp at about the same time.

Great analysis and commentary JB, and we really have to give our camerman Al credit for that camera angle for getting that shot.

And this evaluation of Olympic "What You Can do on a Jet Bike" is a success, and we should see this in the 2012 summer games......what?....... Oh,... I see.... Thats 2012 Winter Olympic games.

Back to you JB......

Thanks Phoenix

I do have to say that he should get a pretty High score for that jump. The back flip from the leg hook on the rope is quite a difficult maneuver. The time and preparation alone to pull off a trick like this is phenomenal.

I think will be seeing a lt more efforts like this throughout the competition. Looks like "Mad Dog" Charlie Moses is setting up for his triple twist, neck popper, jump.

Let watch!

Back to you Phoenix...

Thanks JB, I had dinner with Mad Dog Chuck last night. I tell you, what an insprition....he was the youngest of 23 children his father past away at a young age so he had to quit school so his mother could get a GED and make a better life for them all.

He's a fighter JB, I'm putting my money on Mad Dog.

I'm Guessing you really are a fan of Mad Dog Since your sporting His Picture. He does have quite a diversified following.

Glad to see his Mom Finally got the diploma.

I have to say though I am a bit partial to "Speedy Pants" McFarland He seems to really be able to Hold it together at "crunch time". In last years event he did a spectacular 1 footed big toe stand on the left hand grip that just stunned the crowds into silence. Of course he wasn't able to make it to the finals but I can"t remember what took him out.

Any Idea there Pheonix? Oh and Where did he get that nick name?

Re: Caption This for 01/22/10

Thanks JB,

The reason he didn't make the Finals because the judges disqualified him when they discovered he was wearing a hidden flotation device, which as you know is against the rules.

Where did he get that nickname, "Speedy Pants" McFarland?

Well it was from a steroid bust McFarland was involved in a few years ago. During the raid, McFarland went rabbit down the street and by the luck of the Irish, he blew right past Foggy McGuire, the sports agent while he was walking his dog, and Foggy immediately recognized the talent. He just had to find a sport that "Speedy" was good in, It came down to this or sequencized swimming, as always McGuire made the right choice. Nice to see the Irish working together, which is uncommon. Wow, you could make this story up, even if you tried.

And considering his recent disqualification, it goes to show, its hard to change an Irishman's old habits.

Re: Caption This for 01/22/10

She certainly is JB,

I can't say enough about Lacy.......She started out as a pole dance that made her perfect for this sport. When she came onto the scene she literal hit the ground peddling her wares. And she went from Lacy "Take a Peek" Seymour to Lacy "too hot to Handle" Seymour.

I am glad that these events are blind to sex of the person. And just goes by the ability to compete and win.

I'll tell you a little story about "Take a Peek". She won 2 of her first 3 races, and it was after 5 events that people first realized the she only had one arm and a prosthetic leg.

It seems every one of this Olympic athletes has a heart wrenching story, some come from the wrong side of the tracks, some on the right side of the tracks, some just too slow to get off the tracks and gets run over....like Lacy.

And the integrity, it is just something thats a breath of fresh air. They are not here for the big contract endorsements, no, there are here because they love the sport.

I heard that Ernie "stretch" Jones, turned down a Huge endorsement from Kimberly Clark to endorse their new product..."Oops, I pooped in my Pants" Adult Diapers. The reason "stretch" said is that he owes it to his fans, and he is not going to sell out. His exact words were. "I do it for the love of the game. and not for the money". and went on to say, he always carrys an extra change of short anyways.

Real true athletes, every one of them.

Rick Young performed his "Flying Hydro-Wedgie" trick at the 2010 X-Games and it went off without a hitch. But, due to a request by his sponsor YAMA Ribbons in Xiamen, China, there was one small string attached. The string was actually their now famous "Pink Ric Rac Ribbon" with Competitive Price and Fast Delivery, Used Instead of Bows on Gifts.

Homer Simpson quotes that just might caption this the bestest

Let's go fly a bike
Up to the highest height
Let's go fly a bike
And send it soaring

Up through the atmosphere
Up where the air is clear
Oh, let's go...fly a bike!

Very good cartoon.

Only Men's mags would paper publish it. Mad needs a boost.

Probably a cold day in Hell before the New Yorker would do it.

Funny Jesus jokes and killings if Mohammed was shown dancing in a bear costume?

Great picture!
