I call shotgun.........

I was struggling, trying to find the meaning of "I call shotgun..." when I discovered that I wrote : "I may look..." rather than: "It may look..." .

But tell me the meaning anyway, I'd appreciate it.

P.D. Adding: "think of actually using it..." made it a lot worse, f**k!, I'm so ashamed.

"Shotgun" was the stagecoach rider sitting next to the driver (with a shotgun), to fend off those who might attack the stagecoage.

It (the front passenger seat) is considered a preferred seat in a car, (especially with so many cars with uncomfortable rear seats these days.) so that when a group is headed toward the vehicle, the first one to yell it out gets the honor.

riding shotgun but I prefer riding shot gun in the coach.......Chris needs to loose a little weight.

Yeah, it looks great and is 'awesome' but doesn't bear close consideration. Someon imobile enough to need the mobility scooter won't be abole to get in the mini caravan, or if they do then sure as heck they won't get out.
Mind, replace it with a trck on the back and it would be useful.
