Auto-Water Fountain For Dogs Is Ridiculous Yet Sensible

Posted August 09, 2012 11:01 AM

From DVICE:

Dog owners are sure to appreciate this convenient gadget that senses when your dog is approaching and sends out a stream of water for your pooch to guzzle whenever they're thirsty. It saves us owners from having to read Fido's mind (that stare could mean anything) and keeps them happy by giving them a fun, safe fountain to use.

I have a SERIOUS PROBLEM with this device!!!!!!!!!

Here in Arizona, this fountain would scald/blister my dog's tongue every time he tried to get a drink, from June through September.

Bad idea!

That's a very good point.

Here in ND, if located on the North or East side of the house the heated water might not be as large an issue as you have. However, we would have an operational issue about 6 months of the year.

After the first time, I bet he would learn to wait a few seconds for the water to cool down.

My dog would let it run until a sticky mud puddle was made, then she'd roll around in it.

You pretty much can't lose with a device that keeps your dog happy and healthy.

I thought that was the responsibility of the pet owner. Why have a pet if you don't want to put the time in to care for it.

Yes I know it's not that bad, but what's next, pet TV so you don't have to spend time with your pet?

We went out of town for a few days, and had to board our dog, Clyde.

One of the options offered by Bark Avenue, in addition to play time was to have a TV in your dog's kennel. (They only played Disney Channel so as not so excite the dogs)

My friends have found that the satellite TV food channel works well also (at least for rottweilers).

I also hear that the occasional burglar chew toy keeps Chows, Rottweilers & Pit Bulls from chewing on other things like your furniture.

And yes I know Chows, Rotts and PBs are no more likely to hurt someone than my Lab or someones Chiwawa.

Well, no burglars recently so I guess that explains the head-sized piece missing from the couch.

To jack(4) "what's next, pet TV so you don't have to spend time with your pet?"
and
lyn(5) "...a TV in your dog's kennel. (They only played Disney Channel so as not so excite the dogs)"

I can't have been the ONLY person to have seen THIS on the news awhile back:
